Still ongoing. I have been on the road 12-14h\d all week and have had much time to tinker.
I have them all recording Color NV right now and want to test them w\ IRNV this weekend but will have to move them.
Once that is done and I have ample footage, I am going to flash two back farther and test. I am going to keep the .2700 running as a comparative baseline since I don’t really feel like doing a full factory reset and setup to flash it back.
Preliminary results: no discernable difference in the Color NV between the three in HD. All three are grainy and digitally splotchy. The artifacts are clearly evident in Live Stream, Event Video, and SD Playback.
Will post more when I have time, but I have a lot of irons in the fire right now.
I’m still using .139 . This is a arrival and departure. The movement of the critter running and the small American flag on the right side of the driveway blowing in the wind are not to good. The flag is ok during the day, very clear and no pixel mush.
Agreed. I believe it may have to do with the level of light available for the starlight sensor. The lower the light available, the more “pixel mush”. Mine are pixel mush everywhere.
Shouldn’t the FPS be the same during the day and under Color Night Vision since there is no change in the cam recording status? They are essentially the same state of the cam since the Night Vision is completely off.
I think you are right that it is different. I thought I remember @peepeep did some extensive testing on this. But I was under the impression that that was a Night Vision function\setting driven change not a time of day driven change.
I am having the same issue with the night vision degrading on all my cameras. They are only a few months old. They were originally in color and great quality. Just last night they switched to completely black and white, and the quality has degraded significantly within just an hour. I am guessing this is a firmware issue, but want to know if there has been a fix yet.
My cameras are the V3 model. All the cameras have the firmware version 4.36.9.139. I have night vision set to auto and the IR Night Vision settings set to far. The quality changed within a couple of minutes in the middle of the night, and no settings were changed during this time. You can also see that this is affecting more than one camera. This image only shows two cameras, but it is happening to all my cameras.
I see that there is poor quality in the thumbnails for the Side Yard Color Night Vision and the Front Porch IR Night Vision especially.
From looking at your Events list, since there are no AI tags or video lengths, that these cams aren’t on a subscription and that you are getting snapshots only?
The thumbnails are very small images that are considerably downsampled. Wyze may have made a server change that modified these.
The question is how the Image looks when you open it in full frame view. Is it also poor quality?
When you open the cam to live stream, is the video streaming in HD, SD, or 360p? Does the stream quality of the image look the same there?
What do the videos on your SD card look like for the same time? Are they also low quality?
I don’t have a subscription, but I do have SD cards in each, and I typically get amazing quality. For whatever reason the color issue resolved itself last night. However, the quality is still off. I tried to attach a video clip from my cameras from Monday vs last night to show you, but I get an error that new members cannot attach files. I was able to attach those low quality photos but not the videos.
