Test my Leak Sensors this weekend…..

My experience with the v2 leak sensors is that they often don’t tell you when there is a connectivity issue.

I purchased and installed Wyze water sensors 3 years ago. The wyze app shows all devices are normal and online. Never received an alert. I found that we had $10,000 in water damage that was never alerted as the device doesn’t work. I took the probe and put it in a glass of water and still didnt alert.

Others seem to have similar and varied issues. If they work when you test them, great. But will they work in X weeks or months when you need them to?

I had 3 water sensors paired and worked for over a year but recently noticed they all 3 stopped communicating to the hub. I replaced the battery in one of the sensors but did not communicate. I decided to delete them and tried to pair again but couldn’t get any of them to pair successfully.

I have held off on the hub since it has been reported that hubs don’t recover after a power failure.

What if my water heater had popped & I didn’t get the notification from my water sensor. OUTRIGHT WYZE FAILURE!

this leak probe not seal well, it will keep water in the case that makes the sensor body false alarm for leaking,

Most of my sensors are missing as well. I can’t seem to communicate with the Wyze Hub although it indicates it is connected in device info.

If leak sensor offline (little cloud with a line through it icon), Wyze App should ALERT notification to phone. Otherwise human goes about human business for days not knowing leak sensor is not reporting anything to hub. Leak sensor is effectively a doorstop, and if leak happens while it is offline, human will not know about leak. Human is not going to open Wyze App every hour to check if sensor is still online.

Mine failed to notify. Lots of water damage. Don’t trust they will work

I guess Wyze leak sensors are a good idea, but I don’t feel like I can fully trust them. If I’m out of town and there is a leak while they are randomly offline, I cannot know anything is wrong.

I’ve deleted and re-added it several times but it ignores the water it’s sitting in. When I re-add it to the system, it detects a test leak, but then won’t clear the allert. What the heck? These used to be reliable.
