Good Day!
We are new and need to learn. Please be kind and if you are able to help, we appreciate all suggestions.
We’re NOT computer techies.
We have 3 wonderful working Wyze cameras. We have ONE (1) with the 32gb memory card. It’s such a tiny thing! I need to take it out and see what has been recorded. EXCEPT try not to LOL AT US BUT WITH US would be preferred .
Questions:
What do we place this tiny card into to view whats on it?
Our laptop appears to have a much LARGER opening for SD Cards. We aren’t sure to try to place it there.
What do we purchase to adapt the Tiny card to place into computer to WATCH & save the video(s).
Thanks
Welcome, what type of WYZE camera do you have. Is it a battery powered camera or is it plugged into power outlet? As for the tiny micro SD card it should have an adapter that will fit in your Laptop. The tiny card slides into the adapter. Depending on your camera you may not need it, you can view what is on the card from most of the plug in powered cameras.
TY. Hard plug. Indoor/Outdoor Wyze Cam v3.
We purchased 3 cameras and the expanded card 32gb by Wyze. No adapter included.
So I need an adapter for the 32gb card to place into our computer. I’ll check Wyze website or any adapter?
Where are you? I have dozens of them.
Also, some laptops have a slot for a uSD card - this one does.
Or you could just buy a new card that comes with the adapter while gaining larger capacity (more recording time). You can get a decent high-endurance 128GB card for $12.99 from Amazon or a 64GB card on sale for $8.99. Amazon sometimes has the 256GB card on sale for less than $15.
In case you’re not aware… you can view the footage recorded to your card by live streaming a v3 cam, then push the big green View Playback button at the bottom of the screen. It’s a slow review process though compared to viewing on a computer.
If you are using a V3 you can view what is on the card via playback. My cameras are set for continuous recording 24/7 . Just tap playback and move the slider to the time you want whether you are doing continuous or event recording.
You are so SWEET! THANK YOU . Well I used to be a Redhead with the Trait I want it NOW.
I’m silver-colored and still have the Attitude, LOL. Age doesn’t always mean Wiser.
Talking with Hubby, we went on Amazon and purchased an adapter that can read different size SD Cards.
Thank you. Amazingly I did that. I wasn’t clear enough in my request for help.
I want to remove SD Card and view on our computer AND SAVE to our computer. We just ordered an adapter from Amazon that takes different sizes of SD cards. We were missing the adapter reader that plugs into computer. Not anymore. Yippee another good purchase!
Wyze Cameras, too small of Storage SD Card from Wzye.
Adapter now!
I’m using 128 MB and 256 MB cards in my cameras, it’s a lot of raccoon videos.
We hope we can ASK a CONTINUING question that is Related.
When we 1st purchased our camers a few weeks ago, Wyze suggested to purchase their SD card Because other SD Cards may NOT be compatible. We didn’t see a larger 256 card, RATS!
I see in your wonderful answer the pictures of a Samsung SD Card. Is this your current SD Card working well and compatible? We mentioned we are not the techie people. We certainly APPRECIATE everyone’s responses are EXTREMELY HELPFUL!!!
We have Deer and cats that want to be with our dog early morning hours. LOL!
Yes, I use Samsung high-endurance 64GB, 128GB or 256GB cards in all of my cams (including non-Wyze gear). I’ve never encountered an issue with Samsung high-endurance cards. Some cams have been continuously writing to these cards for over 4 years.
In addition to 32GB cards, Wyze also sells 128GB and 256GB cards:
Yes, they are very good cards. You can use WYZE cards but they are not required. You just need a good high endurance card if you are going to record continuous. I just happen to like Samsung, others prefer SanDisk and other brands. Just purchase from a reputable seller.

Being that you are new to Wyze, are you still on a Cam Plus trial? If so here is some info on Cam Plus and Cam Plus Lite to see what best fits your needs and budget
Hi there!
We belong now. The trial period we thought was great. I will definitely check out the links you kindly shared to refresh our memory. Thank you!
Continued answer: yes we are on the higher level & paid the yearly subscription. I don’t do cloud because we don’t understand it. I promise we will learn more about it. What I think I know but could be oh so wrong… I rather keep everything private and secured without Cloud. Thank you!!! ALL of you are An Amazing Helpful Kind Group!!! Oh and PATIENT!!!
I don’t know about their current cards, but when Wyze first started selling uSD Cards, they were garbage. Almost everyone reported very early death. I bought a few and none lasted 6 months. Personally I have been using SanDisk High Endurance cards - mostly 64GB, but a few larger ones. Whatever cards you buy, make sure they are specifically intended for video cameras.
If your cams are subscribed to Cam Plus, and you are receiving Push Notifications on your phone from motion or Smart Detection AI Events, you are already doing “Cloud” recording.
While cams do have the capability to record video footage to the SD Card either Continuously or Motion Events only, those do not produce any notifications or tag videos with Smart Detection AI Events.
If you have “Record Motion Events” enabled in the Events Recording settings, you are uploading every motion event to your account in the cloud. You can access these Cloud Uploaded video Events by looking at the Events Tab. That is where all Cloud Events are displayed.
SD Recorded video footage is video saved separately from the Events footage and is viewed using the SD Card Playback feature.
Definitely will keep this in mind! Thanks so much.
I didn’t realize we have a “Cloud” account. I have no idea how to access it let alone any sign-in requirements.
