Multiple Users' Permissions for Shared Users

I would like to see admin permissions for more than 1 person on the account. With me, my wife set up the camera’s and we both like to make changes to what our cameras can do. We either add zones or add time frames. It’s kinda a hassle to remove the camera from the owner account and make changes myself then have those changed deleted when my wife wants to make different changes. I think the owner of the account should be able to share admin permissions with who they want and view permissions to others if possible. I think it would be an added benefit to the system.

It would be nice to be able to share the device, with limited features, for specified periods of time. I.e., we have a camera which we use as a baby monitor. I’d like the nanny to be able to see it during working hours, but not during times she is not working.

I have a campan that is shared with multiple people. I want them to be able to view it, but not be able to control it (move it around). It would be nice to have a setting where only the owner (main user) has access to the controls.

Liked. Upvoted. Seconded. Whatever encouragement the Wyze team still would like to work on this suggestion, I would still like to offer.

I would like to see a setting to turn off alerts for shared cameras. My parents are sharing their cameras and they have their sensitivity pretty high to keep track of animals on the property. I really dont need to know every 15 min when an animal runs by or a tree limb blows. Its cool to see the wildlife but not 20 times through the night.

How Long does it take to implement a simple feature like this? This has been a customer request for years. Stop dividing your attention away from your core products. We don’t need handheld vacuums, watches, scales, etc. Focus on home security and automation. Listen to your customers and implement simple software improvements that your long time core customers are asking for.

I must say, I would have a fleet of wyze cameras if they would implement the suggestions I see in the forums. The lack of certain controls keeps me in other brands.

@gonefishin I’m the opposite, I’ve been a huge Wyze backer, I have 21 cameras (Mix of V2, Pan Scan, Outdoor, and V3), two Sense packages,… under the assumption they’d make improvements to their platform as they’ve sold many more… clearly, their financials are doing well since they can’t meet demand for their products… the underestimated demand… meaning, once they catch up in production they should be exceeding all internal goals… They should be focusing their efforts on these products and using their resources to make them be best products on the market… instead, upper management fragments the expertise and comes up with all of these one-off side projects that don’t have anything to do with home security that take time and resources away from the core competency of the company.

I wish they’d be more focused, it’s really a disgrace that they can’t handle software feature requests that have been hanging around for 2-3 years, that are crucial to their growth and success… and have the teams out making stuff nobody asked for. The watch, scale, thermostat, they are trying to compete in a market that already has clear winners (FitBit, Apple, Ecobee, Google/Nest, etc)… Why offer a mediocre product and fragment the focus of the company… Very frustrating to watch them not be the best they can be.

I have a few cameras that I have shared with a spouse. It would be nice for my spouse to have the playback option on there account. We use to use the same account, but with fitness bands that’s not possible. I can understand some people would like to share without playback, but in my case it would be helpful to have the option. I feel it would be nice to create an option under the admin account to turn on/off playback for shared cameras.

Can the share function be setup so the person you are sharing with doesn’t have ability to change anything. No administrator rights, All they can do is look at what cameras are seeing

As of right now that’s how it is setup. It would be nice for the admin to give or take right to see what’s in the cloud or sd drive when your unable to share accounts due to products like the watch and band.

I believe that is the default when you ‘share’ a device

Is that different depending on the type of camera you have? A friend just shared her cam with me and I had access to all the controls. Being able to set up “viewers only” would be ideal if that is indeed an option, since we want to share this cam with multiple people, but not have them control it.

It would be great to have MULTIPLE users in one Wyze account.

My husband and I have used the same wyze account since day one. We use the account to manage the cameras and lighting at both our house and office, have setup rules, shortcuts, notifications, etc. We also have the scale, which supports multiple users… Then we got the watches, and sadly, you can only have 1 watch attached to an account (you can’t even share it if the other account has a watch-this seems short sighted).

So, we were forced to create a second account now… And even though we shared all the cameras (which has Wyze Plus on all of them), he didn’t have ANY of the Wyze Cam Plus features and the app is telling him he needs to purchase that subscription. (This seems like a bug as the subscription are assigned to the cameras).

This is ridiculous why can’t I share the settings with other users especially video playback ?? How does that even make sense??

Scenario:
Person A has their own various WyzeCams setup with event notifications.
Person B has their own various WyzeCams setup with event notifications.
Person A shares a camera with Person B.
Person B is now subject to the event notifications that Person A configured on the shared Wyzecam with no way to modify the event notification settings specific to themself (Person B)

This is a problem because it discourages camera sharing if Person B can’t control the notifications they are getting from Person A’s camera.

Example:
Person A has all motion notifications set so they can see dogs running around the house or maybe they have a busy street and want it to capture and notify them of all motion events… They share the camera with Person B and now Person B is flooded with Event notifications that they don’t want to see. (Contrary to Person A). And Person B can’t just turn off all Wyze notifications because they have their own cameras that they DO want to see their own event notifications for. So the only other action is to delete the shared camera from Person A or live with the flood of event notifications.

For this reason, I’m requesting a feature update to include separate event notification controls for shared cameras.

My topic got merged with this one. I believe that they are related but ultimately 2 separate issues related to the same problem. In my previous post which was merged I asked for a feature update to include separate event notification permissions for a user that was shared a camera. In essence I believe they need their own permissions (separate from the owner of the cameras permissions) to control what kind of event notifications they receive. Especially in scenarios where both parties have Wyzecams of their own.

I am sharing 3 cameras with 3 other people and when motion events trigger video records they are sent to all 4 of us. The bandwidth consumption on the camera’s internet connection is substantial when there are a lot of events and I want to turn off sending the motion videos to myself and one other person while still sending it to 2 others. OR I want to just to receive motion alerts and not send the motion video to the app each time. It seems neither are possible right now

Feature request: Wyze app should let the main account control what the secondary accounts (the ones you share with) can do. More like Access Control Lists. Fine-grained i.e. can do this and cannot do that. If I share my cameras with a secondary user, I’d like to decide whether or not they can delete events, whether or not they can reconfigure (say) my Spotlight functions, etc.
So the creation of a section on the app where I can grant/deny access to certain functions within app.
