Fanless? What about heat build up?
I am looking for something with an i9 and 32 GB RAM.
DDR5 is nice, but I guess the N100 doesn’t get hot?

It’s a low-power cpu and the metallic case usually is enough to dissipate the heat produced.
The N100 processor, like the i3, is targeted for casual web browsing and other light computer use. It’s cheap, too. It’s actually good for deploying servers around the home. For example, for about the same price, it’s more powerful than the raspberry pi I use to filter out bad website access for everyone at home.
If you are going to get a 13th or 14th gen Intel CPU especially for i5 K, i7 & i9 parts, then remember to flash to 0x12B CPU microcode to address the elevated voltages that was degrading CPUs (system crash when under load).
Here is the list of CPU that Intel has extended warranty for 2 additional years for its boxed / tray CPUs. CPUs with OEM and system integrators are not covered by Intel so you’ll need to check with your system manufacturer.
Here is the list of CPUs that are not impacted according to Intel:
Very cool.
I need something more powerful to render movies and audio tracks. Otherwise it is just spreadsheets, documents and Web browsing. Not needed for gaming.
Thanks. Figured on getting a 12th or 13th gen i9. Don’t really need K, as far as I know. I was hoping for DDR5 memory but seems DDR4 is common. Hopefully the onboard graphics is decent.
I remember an intel pentium processor that can’t divide …
I remember that. I had to replace all of ours (Company’s) one at a time. Did simple math equation on the calculator. If it failed, it got a new CPU. Good old days.
Well, I did it. Price dropped below what I hoped for, so I took the bait and bit the hook. I bought myself an early Christmas present.
We will see what happens. There are so many options out there. I am tired ot viewing all of the reviews on YouTube. I could have bought a newer system, but hopefully this will meet my needs for the price I paid. A desktop PC would/could cost me over $1300 and that was for an i7 with 16GB of RAM. This will also give me a system on Windows 11.
Sweet little machine
It says that there is a SD card reader but I don’t see it on the picture. Is it on the side?
Great find. Here is a good deal if you need a small monitor to go with your mini computer.
Do you mean the SSD drive? It’s an M.2 solid state drive.
Nice machine. Pair it with a 4K 27-inch monitor (or even a pair).
With NUCs, you can even attach it to the back of the monitor using its VESA screws.
OK, but I don’t see the (micro?) SD drive, either.
This is not a powerhouse by any means

I have two of these. One runs ProScan for my police scanner, and the other my wife uses with a dual monitor setup. I’ve never run any graphic or CPU intensive programs on it.
We all know what a legal Windows 11 Pro license costs. This comes with Windows 11 Pro activated. The math doesn’t math. Windows updates are successfull (it was just updated to 24H2)
PC manufacturers pay very little for Windows 11 license, compared to the retail price. The volume makes it profitable for Microsoft.
That’s why I asked
I believe it does have an full-size SD card internally but they didn’t provide access to it externally from the frame. I like it is a metal frame.
I rarely used a full-size SD card although my two laptops and other desktop have one each.
I can, if needed, use my USB thumbdrive that accepts micro SD cards.
I rarely take out a micro SD card once I put one in. My phone, tablets, cameras, Roku micro SD cards stay internal. Seems all data I need is automatically copied to the cloud.
I think this unit will work fine for production work and media editing. Seems you would need an AMD if you want to play serious games.
