Let me connect My Camera to Wyze system

I have a HD camera with 200mm lens that watches my kids at the far back of our yard. I would like to connect it to Wyze.

[Mod Note]: Your request was moved to this category for better visibility in order for you to receive help from the forum community. Hopefully, fellow users with a similar use case will provide 3rd-party connectivity solutions or help derive requirements for the development of a Wyze product thus evolving this topic into a new wishlist topic.

I have a similar camera, but I just use it thru it’s software.

Even if the HD cam w/200mm lens has WiFi, I can’t think of anything that will provide connectivity to Wyze or Wyze app. If cam is an IP cam, user could use a different viewing app to consolidate dissimilar cam brands… something like tinyCam.

Yes, Tinycam may be able to do it. At least get it on the same screen with the Wyze cameras.

I think the OP is running iOS/iPadOS. I think tinyCam is Android only.

But just in case, for reference:

Thanks for the kind suggestions, folks, but I’m not looking for alternate solutions. I want Wyze to make a generic HD camera input that will connect it to the Wyze system. This is a feature request.

You’re going to have to state specifics to which Wyze can develop. For example, exactly how will the Wyze connect to your cam? What type of output does your cam provide? Asking for “generic” will most likely result in a device that is incompatible with your specific cam.

The HD output connection of my camera should plug into an HD input on a Wyze wi-fi camera module. This module would be all the components of a camera v2 or v3 but no camera just the data connection. If they get really fancy they can add an HD connection to all camera and the user could switch between the Wyze camera or the generic camera input.

What is the mfgr/model of your camera? Maybe that would help understand it better. So you just have a analog video feed, maybe a RF BNC connector? How do you control the zoom and pan?

Is this a common camera that lots of people would want to buy an interface module for?

I’m guessing the OP wants Wyze to develop a hub so third party cameras can connect to it and be controlled by the app. Call me crazy, but this thing is not only impossible but nightmare to develop and support. Not to mention the price tag, just to recover R&D!

Wyze has not moved on the request for 3rd party IP cam connectivity in 3.5 years. It’s a sure bet that Wyze will not be venturing into a hub for 3rd party analog cam connectivity. We probably already have a wishlist topic that covers OP’s use case, but still have no specifics to match up.

I don’t even blame Wyze for not entertaining the idea
