Do you have an existing doorbell or electrical at your gate?

Well that’s what we were just talking about, if you have an echo dot in your house or if you don’t you can buy one
The doorbell Integrates with Alexa and Google Assistant. Your doorbell will sound on your smart speaker when you’re home

This is a hard one. Since I don’t know which part of the door bell connects to the WiFi (the actual doorbell or the chime itself), it’s hard to give you an answer since the sub 1 ghz signal connection between the doorbell and the chime generally won’t reach that that 1/3 mile.

Assuming it’s the doorbell that connects to WiFi and assuming you only have WiFi at your house and not your gate, you could probably do this by running a wireless backbone (assuming you have line or sight from the house to the gate) from your house to your gate and then having a WiFi access point at your gate for the doorbell to connect to. Ubiquity generally has good, cost effective gear in this department for the backbone and outside AP.

If / how the doorbell cam connects to and it’s dependency on the chime muddies the waters a bit. Worse case, the chime is plugged into an all weather box at your gate and then you either buy a second chime for the house (which Wyze has said they’ll sell) and/or you use an Echo or Google Assistant product to announce in the house when there’s a visitor at your gate,

All of this of course assumes you have power at your gate. If not, your pretty SOL.

I use Ring. This one stands well if not more. Works with Alexa and Google. The two-way audio is good. The chime is loud enough. The video is better than Ring, IMHO. I’m impressed with the size and performance.

Hardwired? Really? Come on! You already have the no wire technology proved in the outdoor cam, why not use the same technology for this? I’ll be waiting for the wireless solution.

Did you even read the question? Some don’t have a door bell at all.

Everyone knew all along this would be a wired doorbell

So, how will it be notify on Amazon Alexa and on GA ? Either my say “someone is at the door” or by simple playing a music of some sort ?

We have power at the gate and the wifi reaches from the barn.

For those without existing wiring. You can use a 18v-24v transformer. Just have to plug it in and run a tiny wire.

Actually Alexa will play different sounds you can select from as well. Also you can create a routine which will be triggered by a doorbell press and there you can perform a whole series of actions. Turn lights on, play sounds, etc.

It’s a pretty complete set of features, and the cool thing is it’s independent of the doorbell brand. As long as it’s seen as a doorbell by Alexa they all work the same way.

I don’t believe so but I’m not 100% sure, I have no Amazon video devices. I do know it will do Alexa announcements.

I haven’t checked the doorbell support site but you can pair more than one chime. I just added a 2nd but haven’t tested it yet (too early in the am)

BTW, great username  SKOL!

I know all about the issues w/ streaming Wyze cams to smart displays. I stopped trying to do that months ago because it was so terrible.

Hoping they can get it figured out for the doorbell cam, because that is a truly useful feature that would set them apart from a lot of the competition.

As excited as I am for the Doorbell cam I have been taken back a bit… After looking at the product page and video comparison I understand the head to toe reasoning of the 3x4 aspect ratio but I fear that may also be the put off for many (like myself)once they actual realize the limits of the view…

If you ever watched videos from Doorbell cams (like on the neighbors app) you might notice that people have a tendency to stand off and to the side when they notice a person has a video doorbell…

If you guys can find a way to get a more wider view while still maintaining the head to toe few that would be awesome and make it more appealing.

I know you guys offer an angled mount but I am curious if that will be enough for people who have their doorbell at 90 degrees from their door?

I myself will be waiting to see what people post and review in cases like this before I purchase and start missing with my doorbell wiring.
