I would say a reimagined pan cam v2 with improvements and new features to appeal to a new market demographic. Reasonably priced!

If you can’t tell, finally having another camera (and the first 2K camera, and with good audio) with invisible IR is a big deal for me when it comes to a baby monitor option.
Good points in your observations. However, how much of a demand is there for a baby monitor by the Gen Z population?
I still say Wyze should devote resources to resolving technical issues, like the cam pan v3 sdcard, of which I have 2 that were not resolved with the supposed fix and is still being reported in the forum. With over 30 Wyze devices and annual unlimited subscription, I’ve put purchases on indefinite hold for the foreseeable future. Add to that the reported issues with some recently released products.
Wish there was a stronger confidence level in Wyze from my observations of forum conversations within the past year.
I also think they need to put more effort elsewhere besides just making a bunch of small iterations on cameras with new models. People only need/want so many cameras, and I feel like they have been neglecting some key areas of improvement.
But I will also continue to honestly list what I see as the highlights when they post something new. I think this device will be most successful in a Pet store or baby aisle, etc. though other indoor uses are okay too.
Connected through home assistant and the API, I use a lot of their cameras to do advanced automatic lighting in public rooms. If no person is detected for 10-20 minutes the lights in those rooms turn off automatically. It works really well so far. Am affordable indoor pan cam like this would be suitable for such efforts with a single camera (instead of sometimes having to use 2 cameras like I do to cover all angles of a room) at a cheaper cost than the other pan cams.
So it’s not a terrible iteration, but I still would like to see more priority progress in other categories of things they could do. I think more new camera models are going to have diminishing returns at this point. It’s not that they won’t fit a niche need or nobody will buy them, but existing users want to see value expanding in other ways.
I dig it. Less creepy plus less noticeable (for those who might want to mount something like this as a nanny cam or some other application that doesn’t give it away in the dark with visible IR artifact).
I also like the closed eyelid image on the orb of the Cam body that appears when Privacy Mode is enabled. That seems like a kid- and family-friendly touch, especially for people who want to use these in potentially sensitive areas and/or as monitors for children.
