Please, Wyze Gods…please make the AI ignore insects and trees. 97% of my notifications are bugs. Flying bugs, crawling bugs, webs of bugs, bugs classified as cars because they reflect the IR light, bugs reported as people, wind chimes reported as people… Most of the rest are moving trees that freak me out because they’re labeled as people. And now suddenly, the pet detection is only working about 1/2 the time and I need that to protect my garden from critters. I was reported as a PET more than a few times, which is annoying, to say the least. I’m small, but come on!
I have quite a few Wyze cameras that I use. The AI is getting worse all the time. If it doesn’t improve soon, I’ll be replacing them with something more reliable regardless of the cost.
I have not personally done this, but I’ve seen other users suggest that using an external IR illumination source prevents insects from being attracted to the Cams’ own built-in IR LEDs. If you can minimize insects’ attraction to the Cams’ views and exclude them from the fields of view, then I would expect that to reduce false positive AI detections. Placement of the external IR source probably has a lot to do with this, though: In other words, if you place the IR close to the Cam, then you’re probably still going to attract some bugs to the Cam’s vicinity, and that doesn’t really solve the problem. That’d be my expectation, anyway.
