You’ll have to face the some day Froggy.
True that.
You need to go to Radio City Music Hall in New York and see the Rockettes, I went there when I was 12.
Agree! I’m definitely suffering from a dance deficit!
Didja see? Your frog buddy, Marcel Marceau at the end of Can two!
I took a date to see him on stage when I was a teenager. Can’t remember a thing, I was too nervous.
I remember my dad talking about having a Marcel Marceau record at one time. I imagine he was talking about this one. (That article also mentions a 3-sided record that Monty Python released. I remember hearing about that one from a college instructor, who said that he got the record when he was in college and put it on his turntable and set it to repeat (i.e., pick up the needle at the end of play, move it back to the outer edge of the record, and drop it again) while he went about doing other things. He said that after the third or fourth time the record started over, he realized he was hearing material that he hadn’t heard before.)
People scoff at things. But they shouldn’t always do that before they see them up close. I mean like mimers.
We had ‘sensible’ (cheap) seats, I had a job and a car so could do things like this, but there were no bills falling from my pockets.
So we were far from the stage, not ideal. I’m willing to bet that if you were in a small room in close proximity to joke album Marceau as he performed, you would feel something unusual, assuming you weren’t the walking dead.
His confidence alone probably made the air quiver.
Can-can? I was walking early morning on a beach path and saw a trainer on a BB court showing his trainees how to warm up with a step-step-kick routine - ‘Y’know, like can-can? Da-da-da-da-da-da-DA-da-da-da-da-DA-da-da-da-da-da-dut-dut-dut-dut-dut-dut-dut-DA!’
I wasn’t close enough to see their phaces, but their collective body language was like ‘Wuh??’
Seems like I also saw Segovia once but I think I may have dreamed it.
I already have a couple of other recommendations on My Watchlist in Kanopy (but the last thing I watched on the service was the second series of Luther).
Hmm, I may check that out, Idris Elba is fun to watch.
I agree. I dig 'im, and that show has some really interesting character dynamics. I’ve also found that I really enjoy how short “series” (my understanding of what we call a “season”) are for UK and Canadian shows, so if I decide to watch one I don’t feel like I’m getting sucked into a long commitment.
Ok, I’m definitely watching it now.
You won’t get any today.
Perhaps not, but as I was posting I figured you might appreciate it!
I gave the visitor I had yesterday a one way ticket to go visit the
