I don’t think this is what Wyze is doing. Because one can terminate the file download at say, a few bytes. At that point, the camera is already bricked. Obviously, the flash process happens while downloading.
The best way is to have the firmware download to the SD card and than to the camera, less chance of bricking the camera, I think.
Not everyone has SD card installed. Everyone has a phone.
Everyone should install one.
