Enable motion tagging (the green box) so that you can see if the box goes into the detection zone, that is known to cause detections to trigger. More of an issue on some models than others.
Wonder if the fisheye lens throws off some of the detection zone accuracy. Wouldn’t think so, but who knows. It does theoretically focus more light toward the center of the sensor.
If I recall correctly, the VDBPro had some kind of detection zone u glitch if it was on battery (not hard wired), and woke up from a cold start (hadn’t been turned on in a while). Then there was a fraction of a second where it ignores the detection zone or something while still turning on. There was something weird like that. We had a thread on it somewhere and had a dev look into it.
I thought they resolved this, but it could be that.
There is a user here looking to buy used/dead cameras - might want to reach out to them.
Personally, my OGs (with the exception of a firmware glitch a couple versions ago) are extremely accurate with detection zone, I have one watching my front steps, and removed the bottom step since the neighbors cat always walks along it, put the line right along the top of the step, never sets it off anymore.
I have had no issue with detection zones. I have most Wyze camera’s and found all of them to honor the Detection zones. Of course there are random things that occurred and Shadows, leaves, etc. has caused false positives. Guess I may be an anomaly with this.
The Video Doorbell pro does not have the Motion Tagging option, but detection zones work well for me.
I think it would be cool if wyze would stop ““improving”” the app right over into the ditch. Then I wouldn’t just own 13 used nearly dead cameras.
