Curret Thermostat only has 2 wires

I currently have a heat only two wire thermostat
Will this work with the wyze stat?

One wire is connected to RH the other is connected to W1
with a jumper going from RH to RC

Probably not as is - your thermostat uses batteries, right? Mine is similar but without even the jumper. Most/all smart thermostats need full time power from a C wire or equivalent. We can, however, run 24V power ourselves if we don’t mind running new cable.

Hi Sewey99

You may want to take a look at this thread that I started earlier today, I’m not sure it’s the same issue but it may be worth seeing. I’m going to try the solution tomorrow. I’ll report back.

Is that another wire just poking out, or is that a piece of insulation?

If it’s the end of another wire, and that wire is also available on the furnace side, then you should be able to connect it to the C terminal on both ends and use it with the wyze.

If not, then you would have to run a new thermostat wire with at least 3 wires in order to use the wyze.

Well, or run one or two leads up the wall from a transformer if your significant others won’t kill you.
