Hi…
I have a couple of questions and instead of creating two different posts, I decided to bundle them up on this one… hope that’s ok.
My cameras are set to continuous recording. Does that have an impact on the camera’s response time or have any effect at all to the cameras?
I also use TinyCam to monitor 24/7. I use the SD option on the Wyze app as I don’t really see a difference between SD and HD… I do however see a big difference between 360p and SD/HD.
So in TinyCam, what bit rate setting do you recommend between 30/60/120 KB/s?
My bandwidth is 50 Mbps down and 6 Mbps up.
Thanks.
No, continuous recording shouldn’t affect the camera’s responsiveness. It will wear out your microSD card faster because of the continuous writes, but the camera itself shouldn’t be affected.
SD and HD are the same 1080p resolution, SD just uses more agressive compression. In video with very little motion they will look nearly identical.

That depends on the quality you want. You shouldn’t have a problem using 120KB/sec if you have only one camera, but with multiple cameras you may need to scale that down depending on your real world WiFi/internet speed (not just whatyour ISP/router advertise). I use TinyCam locally on a tablet as a sort of NVR and I’ve never had an issue at the highest setting, but YMMV.
