Change WiFi Network Name (SSID) and password without device reset

Are you sure? I have it on my V4.

Wow! Must be an iOS-specific peek. I don’t see that peek on any of my cams on my Android app. Network just lists current network.

I just saw it appear for a v3.

Today, Dec 21st, I updated Firmware to 4.52.9.4188 for my V4’s only. (Other cams, OG Battery Pro, I do not )

I do not see the new feature to change PW even having same Firmware as habib. However, on my Pan V3 there is a shaded ā€œChangeā€ on the right, but it says ā€œI need to update device Firmware to use this feature. My firmware is currently 4.50.15.4800 . Maybe Pan3 isnt out yet?

Also as shown above for habib picture, My V4 shows same Firmware as your picture, but I do not have the shaded Change to the right…weird. Odd you see it and I dont for same Firmware, same camera.

Yes I have the same firmware as you but different plugin version… 3.9.0.15

I’m on Android with the latest version of the app and all firmware updates to the latest level.

I’m a CamPlus unlimited subscriber.

Maybe a phase rollout thing….

Some can see what’s coming if running the beta app and latest firmware, but no one can actually use it yet. Wyze is still developing the feature and it hasn’t even gone out for beta testing yet.

I should’ve been more specific when I said: ā€œAs a matter of fact that feature is coming with the next firmware update.ā€

I should’ve said; ā€œwith a future firmware update.ā€

Probably more like future firmware updates, app update and server changes.

How long has this been ā€œIn Progress?ā€

Choose wifi network without reconnecting the camera

I have a multiple cameras and want to change the wifi password.

Currently there is no way to update the wifi network without re-registering the camera which is inconvenient

yes, you are correct. No way. Yes, you are correct, inconvenient. But you don’t have to delete them, just add them back. I’d recommend shutting them down/pulling power before you begin.

I partially withdraw my comment.

There’s a new V3 firmware I received today which should have the ability to change the WiFi details without resetting the device…

Did anyone try it out?

It works for me using Cam v3 firmware 4.36.16.5654 and Android app v3.10.5 (749).

I have tried to change the Wi-Fi network 7-different ways with no success. I have 4-cameras (in hard to access areas) to change out of my 12-cameras. Upgraded ALL camera firmwares. Using a Netgear Orbi with a built-in IoT network that most of my cameras are already on. Always fails to change. Obviously I know the SSID name and password. The IoT network was configured for 2.4Ghz+5Ghz and since everything works, I figured that shouldn’t be an issue. Nada. Since the CHANGE function kept barking about NOT working on 5Ghz, I changed the Orbi IoT to 2.4Ghz only. Still didn’t work. Tried it with my phone on the original network and the IoT network. Still doesn’t work.

Open to any suggestions…..

I don’t have any Cam v3s, but I tried it on a Cam Pan v3 and had success with that a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks for the feedback, I’ll give it a go at the weekend for a couple of cameras to see if it works.
