Except the other network is still present. Dedicated for work now.
I added a Google WiFi mesh to my system.
I set up the mesh - named it with the same SSID and password as the my original router - then switched off the WiFi signal from my original router and just used it as a modem.
All working fine and no need to change the Wyze stuff.
Why not change the SSID of the original network after setting up Mesh?
Wyze troubleshooting step āAttempt a factory resetā. This wish list also for this use case where it is difficult to access the cam. Pressing the reset may be easier to do than hold a phone while standing on a ladder and hping the lighting is just right for the sqr code to be read.
Easy way to reconnect all devices instead of individually when switching Wi-Fi companies
My power went out 2 days in a row and then the internet was switched to new user names is there a easier way

Why did you change the SSID of your WiFi?
Change it back to what it was before.
Whatās that?
As long as you setup your Wifi to use the same network name and password as before the devices should connect up normally.
WiFi routers are able to be configured. If it came from your internet provider and they installed it and own it, they may have the Administrator Login password locked. This is different than your WiFi login.
If it is your WiFi router, there is a way to login to the router directly as an administrator and change all the settings, either thru an internet browser or thru an app on your phone. If you donāt know what the settings do, donāt mess with them. They regulate your WiFi network.
One of the settings is the SSID (Service Set Identifier). It is the Name of your WiFi network that you see when you search for WiFi networks on your phone. You can name it anything you want (within set parameters).
If you rename your new WiFi router the same as the old one, with the same password, your Wyze gear will all log back in just as before.
To actually answer the OPs question:
There is no way to change your Wifi Settings through the Wyze app.
You have to āsetupā all your devices again with the new details ![]()
If you are able to change your the SSID & Password of your new router back to the previous one (the same you previously used to setup the Wyze devices), this will work too.
Because I have other devices connected there⦠TVās etc. Iām seperating out IoT devices like my Wyze products, August locks, other ligths that I had before Wyze etc. So Iām running two networks⦠So if I change the SSID Iād have to change it for all of those devices as well.
Which is easier?
This is really horrible. I do have 2 cameras and 1 Sprinklers and never know i have to do this when ever i change my password or network name. I never think in this point, i always thought Wyze is smart and i suggested to lot of people about this product is worth to try. If i know this would have the case i never suggested to anyone.
I donāt know they they thought so stupid to do this in this way.
Updating the cameras is some what better compared to Sprinklers.
Sprinklers it really horrible and i have to test all the Zones as water is coming or not. This is totally disappointment for a smart devises.
Yes you are its really painful but as we bought we have to do this to work. if you are in 30day period you can return. I do have Ring for home security i just changed my WiFi once thatās it all the devises automatically take new WiFi settings
I know this really needs addressing, and I hear an App rewrite is coming. I doubt this issue will get fixed, because it doesnāt generate money. One other workaround I used; hook an old/cheap router to the new one, and configure the 2.4Ghz to the old SSID/PW. You now benefit from your new router, but have a nice little network for your old devices. Itās working great for me.
Changing Wyze Cam WIFI setting without having to restart the CAM install process
If I may raise a suggestion to Wyze app, Iād suggest to add feature to Wyze APP, the feature is to allow user change WIFI SSID or password at will without having to restart the install process. Like Nest doorbell from Google, all I have to do is, use the cellphone with Nest App and move closed to the doorbell, then I can send new WIFI ssid and password to the doorbell, the doorbell just accept it and switched itself to the new SSID I created today. This is my suggestion to the Wyze app on how to change CAM WIFI.
Today I have new WIFI router on, I want to switch WIFI SSID and put new password, I canāt. I have to restart the Wyze install process for each and every Wyze cameras I have, and those bundled service become a mess since system thought I add new camera in while theyāre just old cameras with new WIFI connection.
I had the same⦠I just set up a 2.5Ghz (Needed by Wyze) and used the same password and set up the 5Ghz network with the new password.
Yeah, itās a real pain. I added my old router to a new one, just so I had a network with the old name/pw. I recently updated a printer to a new network - it was so easy, and a model for any network device - you should never have to redo each device.
I had to reset an outdoor V2 (unfortunate power washer incident) and found by accident that my 10 inch tablet presented a freaking huge QR code. This made things a bit easier.
I bet a 20 or 30" monitor would help for this sort of thing, although reaching the reset button is still an issue.
Allow sprinkler controller wifi changes without doing a reset
In order to change the wifi settings, currently you have to delete, reset, and add the sprinkler controller. Thereās no in-app way to update the wifi definition and it seems there is no way to turn on bluetooth to allow the device to be re-added without doing a reset. When I had to do this to put the sprinkler controller on a wifi extender, oddly enough it did seem to have the zone definitions available when I added it back. But, it was still cumbersome.
