Can I view Wyze Cameras live on Desktop and smart TV?

Hello, is there any way to view my wireless Wyze cameras on smart TV and my Computer Desktop ? I have multiple (basic) cameras. I am on Mac, and do not have subscription. Thank you

Welcome to the Forum, @milan.sabata!

Maybe and yes.

The first part kind of depends upon what kind of TV you’re using, because there are probably several different ways to view Wyze Cams on smart TVs. What’s been easiest for me is using Google Home, either on a TV running Google TV (essentially Android) as its OS or with a Chromecast plugged into a TV’s HDMI port. Using a device like that, the TV is essentially a Google Home connected smart display, so Cams can be viewed one at a time. Having more detail about your TV would be necessary to provide a better answer.

On a PC, you’d probably use something like the Web Portal, and I see that you’ve already tagged your post with web-view, so :+1:. As a non-subscriber, you should be able to choose 1 Cam per month for live streaming, and you’ll definitely want to be using Google Chrome with Cam OG. (I’ve personally been able to stream some other Wyze Cams in Firefox on Windows and Linux, but Cam OGs have never played well with non-Chromium-based browsers in my experience.) If you want to view more than one Cam at a time on your Mac, then you might be able to run the Wyze app on your desktop machine. I don’t use macOS or iOS devices, so I can’t speak to this personally, but I recall reading elsewhere in the Forum that some Macs will run the Wyze app natively, and I think that depends on specific hardware. You may want to search the Forum for more information about that.

Heh, I wasn’t even aware of that. Though not sure I really have any use for it.

I did set a couple up with Alexa on my Fire Stick just for kicks and they seem to work fine there. But never attempted any sort of long term viewing.

To add to what @crease said, there are quite a few options, but it sort of depends on how often you want to do this (do you want a TV showing the cams all the time, or just on demand), whether you want to purchase a cheap tablet (or have a spare old phone or tablet), and/or if you want to play with 3rd party software. It also depends if you just want to watch one cam at a time or have multiple cams showing at once. For occasional viewing of a single cam at a time I’d agree with the suggstion to use Google Home or Amazon Alexa (possibly built into your TV already). My fire TV stick which was like $20 shows a single cam on the TV by just saying the name of the cam. Others have purchased a tablet with video output support for around $100 so they can run the wyze app and see 4 cams at once on the TV, but those people are using the TV as like a security display and want it on all the time.

A lot of people have an older phone laying around, which can be run off Wifi and may have HDMI output support (through an adapter). Those old (ish) devices come in handy. A lot of devices made in the last 6 to 8 years can run the current Wyze app, and you don’t need cell service, just wifi.

Since you are on a Mac and I’d assume one of the Silicone M1-4 macs you can install the iPad app on it and mirror/Air Play to your TV.

Windows used to have Windows Subsystem for Android which was basically the best emulator you could get, but they’ve sunset it. They want you to use “your phone” or “phone link” now. It does work well but it requires your phone nearby as all it is doing is mirroring it essentially.

Just like Wyze, breaking things that used to work

Apple had BootCamp on Intel Macs that you could run Widows natively, best “emulator” in the world in my opinion  and then they dumped Intel and moved to much better CPU. Glad they did.
