Brand new outdoor cam - battery won't charge

Now on my 3rd Outdoor Cam v2 (wireless). #1 has issues with color night vision and other strange things. #2 did not charge after over 24 hours–I set up a return to Amazon. #3 did not charge. Changed cords, outlets, etc. Still no charge (blinking red). I called customer service. endless “give me 2 or 3 minutes” until it was clear she did not know the product and was just reading the same instructions I had. Needed to repeat the problem and even the model of camera about which I called at least 3 times. I gave up and decided to return all. After reading some of these posts, I plugged #3 camera into my Mac computer. Still just blinking red after 8 hours. I decided to turn on the switch just for fun and, voila!, solid red light indicating fully charged. Did I miss something in the instructions (I had already charged 2 identical cameras successfully a few weeks ago)? Anyway, thanks to those who suggested that the camera needed to be switched on!

Ok I just solved this idiotic problem I had to uninstall the camera from my app then reinstall it. I’m talking about a Wyze camera outdoor not charging on multiple charging cables as well as base stations. I have been trying to charge this for 2 days, I do what o said above and the camera miraculously shows charged at 100%.
This is simply one of many stupid issues with Wyze cams a company that I raved about at first but soon realized after buying multiple cameras I had made a mistake. I have been plagued with
Cameras down and I’m forced to daily “power cycle” and this is across every version of this product as I have 9 of them. So thanks to Wyze not comprehending the need for these cameras to be stable and reliable. They are not even remotely what I would call stable. If I look at analog cameras that I’ve used in the past. I do however love Wyze constantly suggesting I have an unstable network when mine is and has been rock solid. I also love the myriad of firmware updates that always come with some new problem. But my solution above did work for this camera. Now the other 2 that are down. That I have to climb up on my roof to deal with…thank you Wyze for making this experience a constant battle wasting hours of my time.

Welcome to ChiFi Wyze. This is fully documented as I have 2 Outdoor Cams which I’ve been replacing with Ring. My condolences.

I had same issue and here is what solved mine. Make sure your cord is a 2 amp and plug it in on the side of the base station. If you go into the Wyze app and see the charging icon next to the battery then you are good. If you don’t see the charging icon then the cord you are using isn’t the recommended amps. I was using wrong cord and I never saw the charging icon which is why it wasn’t charging much if any at all. Hope this helps
