Sorry to disillusion you, but you haven’t had any privacy since 1984.
Your every online move is probably probably being tracked, followed, recorded etc. I’m happy if I can just keep my bank account and credit cards safe. If Yi wants to look at the exciting videos of my front porch, so be it, so does Wyze (for product improvement, user experience, etc)
Your privacy is in much more danger from using your credit cards on-line, joining social media groups such as Facebook, TikTok, etc.
Google “Facebook privacy violations” ,“TikTok privacy violations”
Next Google “Yi cam data breach”, then “Wyze Cam data breach”
I’m still using Wyze Cams.
Bit of good news, sort of, for me. I found out that another family member’s phone HAS been getting notifications. So it’s phone (or app) dependent for me. My app supports Xnor and the one receiving notifications does not. Same cameras.

. Too bad I can’t have Alexa detect Wyze changes.
Hey now! I just found out TinyCam has a “Background Mode” that’s supposed to be able to generate phone alerts on arbitrary detection zones. I have got to get off the pot and try / buy TinyCam already.
I think Wyze still rocks [Mod Edit]

Why do you need to add nothing to the topic other than to defend Wise?
What are you talking about? He cited the other equipment, both before and after his Wyze investments, because only the Wyze stuff gave him so many problems, and the other brands he uses have no such issues under the same conditions. It was a perfectly logical response.
Great…here come the brand loyalists.
Post withdrawn says volumes.
There is only one thing left for you. Fall on your sword…
p.s. and next time, choose your heroes more carefully…
You clearly havent been on their subreddit. It’s rife with very unhappy people. It’s become such a sounding board for the unhappy that wyze has pretty much abandoned it. The only time in the last few months that I’ve ever even seen a wyze employee mention anything is when an argument got particularly nasty. They basically just made a thread to tell us to behave ourselves.
It’s been said many times on their subreddit that they cant post anything here because the “fanboys get really nasty.” I’d imagine that people arent openly divisive of Wyze on their other social media pages because Wyze is actually able to know their personal information and who exactly is criticizing them. It’s less likely that someone would be retaliated against in a more anonymous location like reddit.
Interesting, and I thought the negativity HERE was high. I nearly never go to Reddit for any reason and was not aware of this.
It certainly doesn’t support the “well most of the Wyze customers must be happy” theory.
Also, I’ve been hanging around here precisely because the “fanboys” haven’t been nasty at all. I’ve learned a lot.
People post when they are unhappy with a product or when extremely happy with a product. They don’t post when the product does what it’s supposed to do or at least what the customer wants it to do.
I don’t remember now what company had the “Do one thing, do it well” campaign years ago but I am still hoping WYZE decides one day to back up a few steps and gets things working again.
I am a the dullest star in the sky and am not interested in doing all sorts of techie stuff to get my cameras to work right.
I was overjoyed when they first came. Now, I don’t even look at them anymore. There is always an issue.
I have two pan cameras I bought when they first came out, and I haven’t even opened the box because I don’t want more headaches.
WYZE - you have lost me.
But my impression was Reddit attracts more of the general public, albeit he’s talking about a Wyze specific subforum there.
I’m just saying, unsatisfied customers are always the most vocal so you can’t judge how well a company is doing by the publically available feedback.
They are heading down the path of WordStar who had 85% of the market. Then one day they woke up and made Wordstar 2000 which changed all of th e commands everyone knew for years.
They went out of busines.
True complaints don’t automatically imply the customer doesn’t like the company or the products.
I don’t dislike Wyze. I keep buying Wyse products because they are a good value.
Bottom line: Mostly great hardware. The software is still very iffy.
WordPerfect seemed slicker at the time, somehow.
I reset person and checked all settings but mine stop even detecting ppl after 7pm ish… two weeks ago it was capable of detecting a human in my yard at 3am, After I paid for cam plus, you can literally stand in front and wave at any of my cams and it won’t even tag the video as a person when it gets dark! During the day it partially works.
Hey - luvmykids2008 -
For what it’s worth, since the last few days of July, person detection and notifications have been completely erratic. For a day or two, they will both work perfectly, and then one or both will quit. I had the same hand-waving experience you had. The fact that it’s great for a day or two and then terrible for a day or two suggests to me that the software people are constantly working on fixes, trying everything in the book and even inventing new ones. I imagine they’re going crazy, but if they’re still working on it, it gives me hope that one day it will stick while in the good mode.
