That’s important. I’m glad you have a relationship with someone you trust.
Just so we’re clear on the numbers and units:
- the 16-24 is measured in VAC (volts alternating current, the rating for the electric potential difference of the transformer’s output)
- the 10 is measured in VA (volt-amperes, the rating for the apparent power output of the transformer)
16-24 VAC / ≥ 10 VA is Wyze’s general recommendation for the power input to their wired doorbells. On the Video Doorbell v2 box that I have right here, they label it this way:
Power Input: AC16V/AC24V,≥10VA
You mentioned earlier in the topic that you’ll be sharing this with your electrician, and I imagine he’ll have no problem processing this information.
Neither am I, but I feel comfortable replacing outlets, switches, light fixtures, ceiling fans. I don’t have any experience snaking cable, but that’s something I’d be interested in learning if I had an application for it.
I’m guilty of making assumptions and try to be aware of my own biases, especially in situations where there are likely to be differences of opinion. I think we all just want @mfhumes to have a positive experience with this.
Sometimes it takes a while for Google Play Store to show an update available. It’s finally offering Wyze app v3.2.6.592 to me. If you’re not seeing it but want the update, then you could try clearing the Google Play Store cache and hitting the Wyze app page again to see if that pulls down newer data for you. To make checking for updates more efficient (for the way I work, anyway), I use the My apps shortcut. Even using that, though, sometimes I have to swipe Google Play Store away and launch from the shortcut a second time for it to pull down the full list of available updates.
