I want to purchase another BCP (Battery Cam Pro).
But, I have my doubts on how far can I connect the solar panel cables, from the cam to the panel.
This setup is on the Northside of the house .
Which is most always, in the shade.
I know the longer the cable, the more, the charge, from the panel dissipates.
The nearest full Sun area (5 hrs min), is located, the width of the House away (6-7 std rooms config facing across from the other).
This distance can be easily, measured in yards.
Can one link multiple cables and achieve, enough charging capacity, to power the OD-BCP, through a So. New England “Cloudy vs Sunny” day sequence(s) ?
Before someone say’s, “Mount camera near the panel ?”.
That would then render it useless. By only capturing the back of any intruder and blinding (@ night) any other cam(s). That could capture aka facing the the intruder / trespassers.

For me, that would be no problem. I have a chimney with a wooden exterior on the north side of the house. So I could easily put the solar panel on the east, west, or south sides of the chimney, and have great solar coverage.
Do you have anything extending above the roof line on your north side? Any possibility of creating a mount that would fasten to the north side of the house but face back to the sun at the roof line?
A photo of the north side might help others make suggestions.

Mine are all 16’. But realistically, you should be fine for 100’ with decent cables and a fully functional panel. It might charge slightly slower, but it should be more than enough to keep up. Mine charge in partial shade or even overcast in just a few hours. Spend $15 and experiment.

It’s a 2 story home. With a,
“No more ladders” over 4 ft., Owner.
As long as it can charge, I’m ok @ 50’ - 100’ ft.
West side sun is the best Spring-fall.
Late fall & Winter sun ? Well, We’ll see.

My other ODC Pro’s panel & cam are mounted on the south side. They are amazing.
They can stay charged with only 2-2.5 hrs of mid day sun @ 100 %.
Both my Back Porch (East side) & North side Mini drive way, see very little action. (Just me passing through)
These days, I want the “True Peace of Mind”,
That it stays that way.
I love that people, see camera’s and automatically, want to stay away !
