I would like to record my turtles when feeding from 8am to 830am. I read that you set up camera on. Do i set a 2nd schedule for camera off? I still would like to watch them live whenever.
If you have SD recording turned on and the camera is on, it will record. There isn’t any way to control the two independently that I’m aware of. But if you schedule it to always be on only at those times, at other times you can control it manually, tap the power button in the app to turn it on when you want, then turn it back off when done. Adds an extra couple steps to the live view though, and it will record during that time that you’ve manually turned it on.
I think the easiest way is to leave the camera on and use the SD card recording schedule for that 8:00–8:30 window. That way you can still open the app and watch the turtles live whenever you want outside that time. I’d avoid scheduling the camera itself to turn off, since that would prevent live viewing until it’s turned back on.
There is no SD card schedule or automation. The closest you could come is having the SD card set to “event only” and then turn on and off motion detection with an automation, but I’m guessing OP doesn’t just want events of the fish, they probably want a constant recording. So the only way to do that would be to use an automation to turn the cam on and off for that 30 mins, then manually turn it on and off when they want to view the live view. May be easier to just use an endurance rated card and leave it on continuous recording all the time.
