Unfortunately, Wyze does not have a product that will accomplish this for you.
The Wyze Climate Sensor only has an effective working range down to 32°F which is only slightly colder than your refrigerator and warmer than your freezer. If you do put it in the freezer, the batteries will drain very quickly.
What you are looking for is a WiFi connected smart temperature sensor that has a probe attachment so the smart bits stay outside the freezer and don’t drain the batteries. Electronic doodads do not like running in freezing temps.
Agreed!
I have some wireless sensor tags (not Wyze) that I have scattered around my house. I very quickly stopped putting one in the freezer because the battery life was terrible,. I do have one in the refrigerator where the battery life is about half what it would be at or near room temperature, but the freezer was well under half the battery life of the sensor in the refrigerator.
Thanks for the quick reply. My wife did some research and found YoLink product that may do the job. I’m going to give them a go and see how it works out.
