Is there any way to bump up the WAIT time automation. Alexa has any easy one but I cannot use it with siren function
How does anyone turn off siren after they turn it on? I would like to turn on siren for 3-5 seconds to get people away from our vehicles at night if camera sees person near vehicles between 11:30pm and 6am
If they are still there in 20 seconds later I want to turn it on for 20-40 seconds more. I do not want it blaring all night if we are way.
I would really like to control when and how I use it.
Sadly I think “wait x amount of time” is one of the last things they’ll implement only because it requires a complete change to how their automation engine currently runs. Last I heard from someone who was on the automations team, all actions are blasted to the server to be executed simultaneously and may execute in a different sequence than they are listed in the automation. So if they added a wait action then it might fire last after the intended action, meaning there would be a wait time if 0 seconds fairly often since it would run the action and then after the action it would wait (for nothing). They would need to change the automation engine to run all actions sequentially like Alexa does.
I can think of a few workarounds they could implement to make this work, but who knows if they will. I’m just explaining why it’s a much harder action than all the others requested because the automation engine doesn’t currently operate in a way that makes it possible. They’d have to change the foundation first.
But I do agree that it should be prioritized. Their automation engine is horribly out of date. It needs wait times and conditional operators and needs to be updated to be standardized to be MCP friendly which would enable all these things. They need to add a “Claudecode” budget to help their devs be more productive and get these things done faster.
For now, the only options are to use a plug imported into a 3rd party platform as an intermediary trigger. Or use Home Assistant. Or an OS level automation app like Tasker or Macrodroid
Perhaps it might be easier for Wyze to make the siren available as an action for Wyze cameras in Alexa. That way we can use the wait time that’s in the Alexa routines.

Triggering the siren when Pet Detected is great, but it runs too long.

Automation action option: Move cam pan to waypoint
I would like to make automation where a camera detects movement and the action is for pan camera to move to view in that direction via Waypoint #( ). That will allow the pan cam to track the movement.
