2.5g network needed?

My wifi is 5g. Must I activate my cam-pan on a 2.5g network? If so, how do I find one?

Yes, the Wyze cameras only operate on 2.4 GHz WiFi networks. You need an access point that will operated on 2.4 GHz. I will point out that almost all consumer 5 GHz access points will also operate on 2.4 GHz. You may have it turned off in the access point settings. If that is the case, turn it back on.

Yes, what mfgr/model router do you have? Some are capable of the 2.4 GHz band (not 2.5), but only have the 5GHz band turned on.

All Wyze WiFi devices use the 2.4 GHz band, including the Pan Cam, as do most all inexpensive WiFi devices.

So if you have the Mfgr/model of your router and the router password, someone may be able to tell you how to tell if the 2.4 GHz band is active, or how to activate it.

If you can’t activate it, you can get a cheap 802.11N router for about $50 that you can plug into a port on your existing router. My sister uses a Netgear WNDR3400 in her apartment. That router would have both 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands.
