Wyze Thermostat C-Wire At Control Board But Not Thermostat

Pretty handy around the house but definitely not an expert.

Installing the thermostat at my daughters first house and ran into this issue: there is no c-wire plugged into the existing thermostat but when I go to install the c-wire adapter at the furnace control board there is a wire installed in the “c-slot”.

Any experts out there know what I should do?

you likely have a splice in your wiring near the furnace, where the C wire and the Y wire go off to the outside A/C unit, if you take a picture of that splice location, I can tell you how to wire in your C adapter.
