Hello friends,

We are happy to announce we are collaborating with She’s Birdie, a great company that specializes in portable personal safety alarms.

Would’ve been really cool if it connected to our phones via Bluetooth and triggered an HMS alarm to Noonlight if we have HMS.

This is pretty close to this Wishlist request:

I would advise my loved ones to carry OC pepper spray over any noise maker. How often do we hear alarms these days and never even look or turn around to see where it is coming from? IE: Car alarms are basically worthless these days.

Since I just saw this product on the their Shop page I must comment. Did Wyze even need this “collaboration”? Their name isn’t even on this product, so they are just selling another companies product, while this same item is sold on Amazon for a few cents less with free shipping.

This one made me scratch my head when I read the announcement e-mail months ago, too.

This isn’t the first time they’ve done this. They had a long partnership with iHealth for example to sell their no-touch thermometers. They also sold masks and covid tests from them and some other things over the years.

I believe that at least their first, original scale was through a partnership that used iHealth as a supplier.

Later, they tested doing this kind of thing a lot more with their app flash sales for a while…even selling other companies’ products in the flash sales.

I’m not giving an opinion here on whether or not they should or shouldn’t do so, just adding context that this isn’t the first time they’ve done such things, and it isn’t completely out of the blue.

Yeah, Wyze got me with the iHealth thermometer, during COVID. Later I discovered that same thermometer cost less on Amazon. My fault for not checking prices first, like I normally do,

We tried to get the same thermometers on Amazon during Covid, but they were all sold out and back ordered by MONTHS if I recall correctly. My wife couldn’t find them available anywhere else and needed some for her healthcare-related business. Thankfully Wyze had them too (life saver for our situation), and we got a few from Wyze before @R.Good bought them all out for charity and good causes.

Everyone thinks he’s such a good guy helping out those charities and kids and good causes, but I know he was just doing it so he could beat me in our contest of who had bought the most stuff through Wyze so he could claim to be the Wyze King.

Well, he did say this:

FYI batteries do not last. We finally got around to testing the 2 we ordered from Wyze back in May, and they are dead. Not a peep. Checking around the net, this seems to be a common problem. The batteries should not drain when the pin is inserted, so something is fundamentally wrong with the electronics.
