Wyze Cam V4 isn't as good as the V3 in the dark

After swapping the V3 with a V4 I was a bit disappointed because I noticed a green hue.

I wonder how much of that is related to the latest Cam v4 firmware:

I can confirm the colors are a bit muted (which could be interpreted as a green hue).

I just posted some night comparisons of OG vs v4. The OG I think was too overstated/vivid, and the v4 is not quite enough.

I was going to open a wishlist to request they adjust it again, but then figured that wasn’t really the right place for it (that would be more for asking them to add a user accessible adjustment etc). Maybe @Mavens and/or @Mods can relay this back to Wyze as seems several have noticed it and have the same complaint.

Given the significantly better clarity of the picture it isn’t a huge issue, but I haven’t yet had to use it to try and identify a clothing color, face, etc, which may be where it becomes an issue.

Yeah, and that seems to have already been requested here:

Add Exposure and focus point/area, and brightness and contrast level controls

In order to avoid under exposing a room with a visible window (or similar high-contrast views) I’d love to be able to choose the area used for exposure calculation. For example, I’d have the cam exposure for the rest of the room and not a window or the top of a lamp or the like.

Color / brightness is horrible during the day on the Doorbell v2. It really takes away from this camera’s features vs the Doorbell Pro. Please add the Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) Option (like Doorbell Pro)

They later ended up doing just that, so it seems like something they could do for other cameras, as well.

Specific to Cam v4 and this topic, though, if the color is an important issue for enough people, then it seems like something that might be best addressed in a fix-it-friday topic, and those are tentatively set to resume early next year. It’s not something that I’d be likely to prioritize (I think other issues are probably more severe and affect greater numbers of users), but they do give the community opportunities to vote, so maybe enough people will be upset that this will get some attention.

If users are experiencing things that don’t seem right or arn’t working as intended, they need to contact Support to relay their experience. When fix it Friday starts back up, that would be a place also.
