I could not find any power consumption details for the OG cam. If anyone can get the mA draw of a wyze cam OG that would be great! I’m trying to make a low-power wyze project and am wondering if the OG is more power efficient than the V2/V3.
I know the v3 draws 330mA-500 ish depending on the scenario.
If someone can get me the OG number it would be great!!

Get yourself one of these and It will give you real time numbers whenever you need,
I know and I actually have one. I’m trying to figure out which draws more without buying the camera. I want to know if it’s less power consumption. If it’s not I will not be buying it.
Here you go. This one of my OG-Tele cameras with the IR illuminators off on the left photo and IR illuminators on for the right photo,
So, 0.23 amp or 1.16 watts vs 0.29 amp or 1.52 watts, Remember that the OG-Tele does not have a spotlight, so could not measure that.
Just to add on here, I have the regular OG, not the telephoto. I’m getting about the same power consumption as tele. I couldn’t take a picture of it with the spotlight on because when I switched to my camera app, the spotlight would turn back off. However it was a very small increase. It would momentarily jump to 2.4 watts and then settle down to about 2 watts.
Why does it come with 1000mA power supply?
Standard power adapter. 500ma power supply’s DO exist but 1A adapters are super common and cheap.
Having overhead also will allow the supply to run cooler and support higher current devices.
