My security cam caught a couple of blue jays stealing rocks from my cacti I wonder what for.
Blue Jays are mean creatures and natural born criminals.
Sometimes Blue Jays will use rocks to knock on your door.
Maybe they aren’t always the best bird in the world, but they get pretty privilege for their pretty blue color So I cut them a little slack
Welcome to the forum @anatoly.volovik!
And here I thought that only Robins stole…
Get it? Robin?
Blue jays are known to collect and cache various items, including pebbles, as a survival strategy. They might use pebbles to help open seeds, nuts, or fruits. Additionally, these caches of food can serve as a future food source when their primary sources are scarce. The pebbles might also play a role in attracting potential mates or establishing territories.
