Though the current vehicle detection needs work, I have a need for detection of specific vehicles.
Whether it detects vehicle brand, vehicle model, vehicle color, vehicle type (suv, sedan, truck, emergency vehicle, etc) I’ll leave open to what is possible now, but prefer to detect and notify when a specific brand and model of vehicle are detected.
Why? I use my cameras to help protect my home from an abusive ex. Whether irrational or not, I need to see if their vehicle is driving down my road.
Another use is automation - when my vehicle pulls in the driveway, it can kick off specific automations for when I am home.
I’m currently in process of developing my own AI vehicle detection, as time allows, using Wyze cameras and a computer running 24/7, but it seems like it would be much easier and efficient for wyze to train its AI on stock images of 20 years of vehicles, then user feedback further training the AI using actual video footage from wyze cameras.
