Sodium battery powered?

Not sure am posting this at the good spot but sodium cell are on the market and can be used in freezing temp so would be lovely to have a Canadian proof solar setup

Will be years before you see those in consumer electronics.

Build your own solar battery system to power the cameras, Amazon has plenty of sodium ion cell type batteries which with proper charge controller will do the job.

Did a search on Amazon for Sodium ion battery and many came up along with cells for small electronics too.

Amazon.com: 12V 100Ah Sodium-Ion Battery with charger, Designed for Cold Weather, Alternative to Low Temp Protection Lithium & Lead Acid Battery, for Solar/RV/Marine : Health & Household

I am currently running LiFePO4 with built in heater for my solar setup that powers my cams.

Sodium ion batteries are new so the quality of those batteries may be questionable

Consumer products are already available with Sodium ion batteries

Yep that why is posted this.

An $800 battery backup or $30,000 car is one thing. But a $30 camera or similar device, the technology is too new and expensive for that.

Energy Density is another issue restraining use in smaller devices as the battery would be approximately twice the size for a comparable lithium battery power storage.

Over time hopefully the technology improves the weight to power density.

I looking forward to nuclear batteries that last 50 years. They have nuBatteries now that when depleted turn into non-radiated copper. Would be nice to see these on the shelf.

I think Reolink is working on this technology? :squinting_face_with_tongue:
