I find that the motion detection areas and sensitivity settings on some of my cameras are better suited for for different times of the day.
I don’t get as many detections throughout the day due to the small detection area and lowered sensitivity settings I have enabled on some of my cameras. However during the night - the settings are tuned to create the thumbnails I like to see for when I browse my events page.
A square or two on the detection area could be the difference between the thumbnails in the events page having a frame of on-coming headlights and no car vs a full side view of the vehicle.
Too high of a sensitivity and I get thumbnails of the convenience store’s light turning off and on vs too low of sensitivity and my camera doesn’t detect as much as it should/would.
However - being able to have pre-set detection areas and sensitivity levels that could be switched between based on a scheduled automation would help resolve the issue. I could have pre-sets that are tuned for night time and day time event triggers.
I hope you get what I’m trying to say here.
