I second the “press-and-hold option” for camera power. Seems like it would meet everyone’s needs.

Not sure I agree with you there @joeman . You might be surprised how unsteady some folks fingers are and you can end up in the same situation of whole groups of cameras inadvertently being off. The sure way is to make it an option to show up or not and those who know their application can use it.

I’ll cop to bring stupid, but once you’re viewing a camera live, there no longer seems to be a stop button. There’s only that blasted on/off button. So guess what my family members keep doing?! Really, I’m sure there was a STOP button before to end living viewing…

I believe you are correct…it turns off the “camera” functions but not the WiFi. Otherwise you couldn’t turn it back on!

I have my cameras aimed at my storage and workshop buildings and turn them off during the day when I go out there often. I find the on/off function very useful

Do you actually do that manually? Why not just set a rule that does it automatically?

I have two Wyze v2 cams that I turn off automatically after dark. My non-v2 cams I leave on 24-hours a day. I don’t use the on/off button. Golly Gee, I hardly use light switches in the house, due to automation.

It only turns on and off the notifications, the camera never turns off. Which in my case, I have it in my bedroom because someone was stealing my stuff while I was away, when I am sleeping, I do not want it recording me, so I unplug it.

not sure how that worked, I have a friend with a camera and has a few friends connected to it, you can change your password, but no one else can change yours. only the main account holder can do that.
