My polling place was calm (though busy and with a long line) with occasional cheers when a poll worker at the check-in table would announce, “First time voter!”
When I moved here during the pandemic and presented for a primary vote, I was given a provisional paper ballot because even though I’d updated my address online, the local system didn’t have my current registration information yet. This was when
was required at the polling place. I was given an envelope with my ballot and instructed to place the ballot in the envelope and seal it after I’d marked the ballot.
After I marked the ballot and placed it into the envelope, I returned to the poll worker and asked how she wanted me to seal the envelope. She suggested licking the flap.

“We’re standing here talking with masks on our faces in the middle of a pandemic, and now you want me to remove my mask, lick this thing, and hand it to you?”
To her credit, she took a beat and then immediately recognized the problem, held up a finger, and said, “Follow me!” We were in a church and so went to the kitchen where she directed me to a sink, and I grabbed a paper towel to finish the job.
I was genuinely surprised at the suggestion to lick the envelope, though maybe not so much so at the lack of forethought given to gaming out that potential situation in advance (and others were filling out paper ballots while I was there, too). Her unflappable demeanor when dealing with me was impressive, too. (I don’t think I was especially rude about it, but I was definitely brusque and direct.)
I talked my cynical best friend into voting in 1984. We strolled and chatted on the way to the polls. We agreed it was (regrettably) ‘the only game in town,’ laughed and entered together in good humor. ![]()
Bigger than the Superbowl and lasting into the wee hours of the next day, if not longer.
I guess this never made it passed beta? It was a great idea.
Originally it was designed to use wifi. I would think they would offer a BlueTooth version in 2024.
Wireless water would be quite handy.
It appears that even the Wyze is generating “art”:
It’s even using a non-
logo, like creations from the Summerlin Foundation:

It certainly wasn’t what I was expecting, but it’s right there on the Help Center site in the lower-right chat tool. ![]()

I hate AI support in so many levels ![]()
Me too, nothing got accomplished.
For sensible people (at least in my opinion), it’s like AI Carnac the Magnificent:
I’m here to tell you all the troubleshooting things you’ve already done….
The annoying little
WYZE-E said to check the tracking. I checked the tracking which is why I submitted the ticket, the USPS says they have not received the item yet even though WYZE said they shipped it on 1 December. ![]()
I’m not immune to suggestion. If nothing else, it messes with @habib[1], @ssummerlin[2], and @towelkingdom[3], so there’s probably at least some value to it. ![]()
And yours hasn’t changed because…? ![]()
Is this one o’ them sitcheeayshunz where someone suggests something to the masses in order to exercise sway without actually making the commitment himself or herself? ![]()
I kinda like this one, by the way, because one interpretation of the message it sends is that I’m not a robot (despite what some have said[1][2]) and that I’m not Wyze Support.
