TL;DR: I am fairly confident this is fake/wrong
I looked up the official FCC gov page and that product code isn’t registered to Shenzhen (or Wyze) and Shenzhen’s most recent action date was 2/2/2024, not this month. Also, the product code doesn’t match their naming schema for previous devices.
Then if you actually look at the image, it looks like made up AI slop from 2023 AI image generators. It looks exactly like made up Wyze cameras I asked AI generators to make years ago. It doesn’t look like the FCC images I usually see when I look then up.
Even so, Shenzhen is a supplier for more than just Wyze.
It should also be pointed out that Wyze has not been doing ODM/OEM manufacturing for a few years now. They confirmed in an AMA they now do their own R&D, design, and own all their IP & design entirely (unlike their earliest devices up through like 2022 or maybe even 2023 at the latest) and come up with the idea, design, etc now. All their latest products have been registered under their grantee code for years now. If this one is real and it was posted under Shenzhen instead, it highly likely means it’s not for Wyze.
Even if they were, last time I looked up the public shipping records between Shenzhen and Wyze, they indicated that Shenzhen was the supplier for:
- Headphones
- Wyze Scale
- Robot Vacuum Cleaner
- Wyze Watch
- Wyze Surge Protector
But it did not ever list cameras at all.. Things could’ve changed recently but I don’t think they do cameras through Shenzhen. Most of their cameras have come through Tianjin Hualai Technology, and Wyze recently gave a partnership to use Gwell components in other cameras (most of the models using FreeRTOS and the lotVid SDK, and now I’m 2025 they launched 2 new camera models (solar cam pan and battery doorbell) with a totally brand new supplier. I don’t believe any cameras for Wyze come from Shenzhen.
I think someone just made this up using AI. All evidence points to that. Likely just someone having fun. Don’t believe it.
I could be wrong, but if I had to bet money one way or the other, my money would be on this not being a Wyze product. But I’m just using educated guessing. There are too many red flags that scream BS. It isn’t passing my expert sniff test. But I appreciate the share anyway.
