Multiple Users' Permissions for Shared Users

I was about to go on a “that’s crazy rant” when I realized that I do have shared control over brightness/color for Wyze color bulbs. Make sure you are both using up to date apps and the light bulbs have the latest firmware installed.

It’s definitely working for my family.

Any update or announcement on this requirement? I am reading post from 2018 for this query, what is the company doing about it?

Exactly dick.

I’m a relative new customer (about 5 months) that have installed multiple v3 cameras in two houses (my parents and mine) and jut got to my attention that +10 v3 cameras installed in my parents house can only be seen by them in real time (no playback option). I have setup all of them on my account and then shared between family members and i am the only one being able to see the Playback FROM THE SD CARD.

And the events tab just records a few events every couple of minutes of the Multiple that occurs. YOU ARE BEING FORCED TO PAY THE PREMIUM SERVICES TO HAVE ALL EVENTS RECORED ON EACH CAMERA. NOT EVEN AN OPTION TO WATCH THE PLAYBACK FROM THE SD CARD FOR SHARED USERS/FAMILY MEMBERS

The funny part is that this has been a request by the users for more than 4 years.

There might be someone selling cheap useless v3 cameras on ebay wink wink…

Need to be able to control what features “Shared Users” can have access to

My camera is being used at a flying club which has 125 members. Club members would like to see the condition of the flying field prior to driving out there, which they now can do with the recently installed Wyze Cam 3 , however; there is a privacy issue when sharing the CAM 3 with other users (club members). I want them to have video at all times, but DO NOT want them to be able to listen in from the camera speaker. If club members are anywhere near the CAM 3 having a conversation among themselves, the camera picks up the sound and any shared user can listen in on the conversation. That is a big privacy issue! The main account holder should be able to control whether a sharded user has the abiity to hear sound from the camera or not, and also is able to change any camera settings that would affect other users. In other words, the main account holder should be able to have master control of what options the shared users have.

I 2nd that.

I’m done with Wyze, unsubscribing from this forum. Yeah it’s affordable but there’s a reason for it. They are unfocused, just making all sorts of smart, cheap products while their main products aren’t perfected or close to being full fledged. And as someone said, it all leads to requiring users to pay recurring subscriptions. You want more money Wyze, do better!

Good luck everyone!

Great use case. Unfortunately, I can’t think of any fix with the Wyze cams other than physically disabling the microphone. Best of luck – I’m holding out hope that Matter protocol brings a change but… won’t be holding my breath.

Unfortunately the only way I was able to disable the camera microphone for all shared users was to disconnect it… There has to be a better way! :persevere:

I am using over 10 cameras includinh wyze pan v2 and I have it installed on 2 different sites. Wyze should update a sharing playback facility. Reading the same issue on this forum 4 years ago and no solution yet is very disappointing. I will also try emailing them.

Wyze team this issue needs your attention!!

This request was made 5 years ago now. Viewing playback is a pretty basic part of sharing access. Quite research, quite making new products… start supporting the ones you’ve already made.

This vote has been taken in 2019. We are in 2022. Find it hard to believe its that hard to code this option into the app. I have about 20 cameras now into my account and looking to buy more but without this option i think i should start looking elsewhere

View Only permission when sharing with family members

Hi I have shared my cameras with my mother however she is not very good at technology and keeps doing things like turning them off, leaving her microphone on etc.

Would it be possible to have the ability for me to select what she has permission to do.

View only would be a great first start. Then as an iteration to the feature create the ability for me to control what features she can use. For example, take a photo, download a video and only use the microphone when she holds down the microphone icon.

Thanks,
M

Short answer is no. My guess is they will never allow it based on the long years of request for this type of functionality that have been IGNORED.

You never know. They may surprise us. If they don’t have many coders in the office, then it can take a long time to get them all done.
I like the idea of holding down the mic when talking because my 94 yr mother does the same thing. She leaves her mic on and then she can’t hear me talking back to her. And then I can hear her talking and talking to other people in the room. I have to text my sister to tell her to turn it off every time she does it.

If the issue is that they don’t have enough coders, they should be able to hire a lot more with Elon Musk firing them all at Twitter!:rofl::rofl:

Add ability to turn off alerts for a shared account

Currently, if alerts are turned off for a camera by a shared account, no one gets alerts for that device. It would be great if each user could set their own preferences.

The only issue my husband and I run into using this method is when i want to be getting notifications and he doesn’t. Because if you are both logged in and one turns them on they are on for all persons logged in. So this is something you have to change on the device sittings themselves, or just live with them being on/off when you aren’t really needing that.
