Why do I lose saved video on the app when my Cam Pan V3 cameras go offline, I pay for Security Plan Unlimited, do not have sd cards installed. Saved videos come back when cameras come back online. I want to know if there was a break-in and cameras stolen, that I would be about to access saved video.
Since you do not have SD cards installed, I assume you are trying to watch cloud based recordings. As long as the camera is still on your account, cloud based videos are still available. How are you trying to access them when it fails?
Keep in mind, at one point if a thief steals a Wyze camera and adds it to the thief’s Wyze account you could lose access to your Cloud videos.
I am not sure if this is still true so maybe others will chime in.
I don’t believe this was ever taken care of. I have asked several times and have never gotten an answer. I also have not tested it again as I don’t pay for cloud services through Wyze anymore since it is not secure and useless if you can’t visit your cloud recordings if the camera is reset.
I remember when that discussion went down a couple of years ago, and the last official words I recall seeing about it were these:
That was the main topic where it was brought to Wyze’s attention and they provided a response—at least from what I recall. I don’t remember seeing any more recent announcement about whether or not they implemented the change, and I also wonder about the status of this whole thing since VerifiedView was phased in starting last year.
