It’s not just the customer service team that is unresponsive. I have been trying to get a reply from their security team.
Back on January 28th, 2026 the following email was sent to privacy@wyze.com. It was then forwarded to them again on March 6th, 2026. Thus far, the WYZE security team has not replied in any way. Not even a reply addressing one of the many questions/points. Nor a simple correspondence stating that they are looking into things and will get back with me. This is extremely disheartening and very concerning. A lack of reply and complete blow off by the WYZE security team speaks volumes.
Good day:
I have been a WYZE user since 2018. I own multiple cameras and other WYZE products. I have recommended your products to several family members. Recently there was a new post in your forums titled “Access to cameras by law enforcement”. Here is a link to the thread: https://forums.wyze.com/t/access-to-cameras-by-law-enforcement/
Forum Mavens and Moderators have provided a fair amount of information. I have personally read through your security policy as well as your privacy policy. In the end, I still have questions and am hopeful you could provide clarification to the following:
-
Does WYZE work with FLOCK?
-
A simple yes or no would be greatly appreciated.
-
-
Will WYZE provide any form of user data to any law enforcement agency without a court order or subpoena?
- Meaning, if law enforcement simply makes a request, will WYZE comply without court orders/subpoenas or similar?
-
When a court order or subpoena is provided to WYZE for user data, will or can WYZE inform the user involved?
-
Policy states WYZE does not sell user data, but do you share it with anyone/any entity (other than advertisers) for no charge?
Also, I find this quite interesting as the highlighted [BOLD here on the forum] statements below seem to be in direct conflict. Can you please clarify these conflicting statements for me?
-
From your security policy found here: https://www.wyze.com/pages/security-trust
- We do not sell your data for money. Wyze does not sell your personal information in the conventional sense (i.e., for money). It’s that simple. Your privacy is a big deal for us – a key part of being friends with our customers.
-
From your privacy policy found here: https://www.wyze.com/policies/privacy-policy
- State privacy laws require certain disclosures about Personal Information we “sell.” Under these state privacy laws “sale” means certain scenarios in which Wyze has disclosed Personal Information to third parties in exchange for valuable or monetary consideration. Under California privacy law, the “sharing” described below also constitutes a “sale.” Accordingly, Wyze “sells” Personal Information as described in the Third Parties With and To Whom We Share Personal Information section below.
Last but not least, how do I go about opting out of all data sharing/selling of my WYZE data (unless ordered by a court or subpoena)? I live in the state of Minnesota and would like to exercise my rights. I have already submitted my information via this web form. https://www.wyze.com/pages/do-not-sell-or-share-my-personal-information-request Is there anything else I need or should do to limit the sharing and selling of my data/information?
