Happy Birthday, Jesus!

If you bring peace, weā€™ll support it.

Peace? More death and wars have been directly because of religion and conflicts of believers believing their belief is the only belief. As for Jesus, some say born Sep 11 3 BC, some march, sept 15 2-4 BC, Dec 15 and other days - years. The year isnā€™t clear and absolutely nothing states a date. The 25th was picked to align with Roman festivals of the Suns ā€œrebirthā€ after the winter solstice in an attempt to christianize the Romanā€™s and align with the already long established peganesque traditions.

ā€œThe winter solstice was celebrated for centuries before Christianity, with feasts that involved burning yule logs, decorating homes with fir trees, and providing gifts and food to family members. As Christianity took hold, Dec. 25 was chosen as the de facto day to honor the birth of Christ, with the speculation that having a Christian celebration at the same time as pagan rituals would help promote the religion and bring more followers.ā€

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Feel free to celebrate in your own way.

I always enjoy your point of views.

Does this mean @ourmessages has already begun the airing of grievances? Who will be the challenger in the feats of strength?

Not it! :grimacing:

Thanks

I know Iā€™m often a social square peg in a round hole.

Happy holiday(s) to all.

I hope everyone has been well this last week. Happy Holidays to all celebrating various holidays or just spending time with loved ones. Personally, Iā€™m a festivus gal. Took a few days off social media to spend time with family.

Likewise. Good food, good conversation and good people. I enjoyed looking at my sisterā€™s Christmas tree since I was too slow to put mine up this year. A pole would be easier.

What time does the Wyze Online Party start for New Yearā€™s 2025?

I think it is still legal to drink and use a computer, while not driving.

Here is 1/1/2024 caught by one of my Wyze cameras. No sound because my cameras are inside looking out.

Probably okay to drink and operate a computer. I wouldnā€™t do any major OS upgrading or tweaking if you are tipsy.

Very good. What are the flashing lights in the upper left of the photo? Celebrations?

Happy New Year.

Just wanted to celebrate something for a minuteā€¦

So, this badge ā€œGreat Replyā€ is pretty rarely obtained (only 10 other posts have ever received at least 50 likes), so Iā€™m somewhat excited I finally made the list since itā€™s one of the few badges on here that I had not earned before now, but I finally got it today!

It was for my classic long famous post about how Wyze can/should do better:

I do think that is one of my best posts Iā€™ve written, so it is fitting that is the post that the general community voted on as ā€œGreat Reply.ā€ If anyone hasnā€™t read it before now, it could be worth a read.

My thanks to @purchark who was the user today who gave my comment there the 50th like/upvote to put it into ā€œGreat Replyā€ infamy among only 10 other comments with as many likes.

Anyway, Iā€™m celebrating that new badge in particular because I wasnā€™t sure Iā€™d ever get it. Maybe I should retire from all my daily posting now? j/k :joy:

Badges I still donā€™t have:

  • First Reaction (Wyze Forum doesnā€™t support reactions right nowā€¦ie: using other emojis besides a heart)
  • New User of the Month (Too late for me to get this now)
  • Great Share (only 2 people have ever gotten this one so far)
  • Great Topic (I donā€™t create topics really often, so will probably never get this) - only 8 non-employees have ever gotten this.
  • 3 Administration Badges

I think the last badge I could potentially get would be the Great Share Badge if I really wanted to try. I probably wonā€™t though. I think the era of me earning any unique forum badges is finally over. Iā€™ll still earn multiples of some of the existing ones though. Like the ā€œNice Replyā€ Badge. Iā€™m apparently up to a whopping 85 of those now:

Last I checked, Gwendolyn was still slaughtering me on totals of that one. I think I MIGHT have the most on most of the rest of them, though I think @R.Good was still beating me on something last time we checked.
ā€¦not that itā€™s a contestā€¦unless it turns out Iā€™m actually beating him, of course  j/k

For anyone curious about what all the badges are and which you have and how many, you can go to this link to read a description of them:

https://forums.wyze.com/badges

They ones with a green checkmark should indicate that you have that badge. It will also say how many times the Badge has been awarded total. If you want to see what ones you have, you can open your profile summary and click on ā€œShow moreā€ for the badges and it will list which ones you have and how many of them you have (if itā€™s one of the ones you can earn multiples of).

Anyway carry on. No big deal, but I was pretty surprised to get a notification I just got that rare badge.
