Purchased and set up two Solar Pan Cams yesterday but having issues with one of them. It has been recording an INSANE amount of movement events (I specified person only for event recording but it seems to have triggered event recordings for any type of movement at all). The main issue is I can’t tell what movement triggered the recording or why because whenever I attempt to access the event, I get an error that says error connecting to the cloud. Try fetching and loading the event again. Except it never says anything else. It’s recorded an event a minute for pretty much the entire day today (several hundred events) and NONE of them are accessible. It never gave a push notification because it wasn’t a person event just a movement event so I didn’t know it was recording them. Totally drained the battery. Really quite awesome.
Every other one of my 12 cams on property record and notify only people, this one does not.
Any help on how to make it stop recording movement clips and only people clips would be appreciated AND any suggestions on how to fix the cloud access issue? I’ve already tried resetting the services and restarting the camera to no avail. I’m at my wits end.
After reading your post, I’m wondering several things:
How do you have Detection Settings (from Solar Cam Pan’s Live Stream screen, tap Settings ➜ Detection Settings) configured, specifically with respect to Motion Tagging, Detection Range, and Motion Sensitivity?
If you have Motion Tagging enabled but are unable to view event videos, then do you at least see snapshots that indicate what might have been triggering motion?
What’s the Wi-Fi situation for this particular camera, and what do you see for Signal Strength in Device Info?
What subscription are you using?
If you’re using a subscription (Cam Unlimited, etc., which I’m guessing because you mentioned having a dozen cameras), then what happens if you try Settings ➜ Reset Services with this problem Cam?
Are you recording to microSD?
What does this particular camera spend most of its time looking at?
With this last question, I’m thinking about my own experience where I have a Solar Cam Pan mounted, because it’s probably too close to a tree and is frequently triggered by branch/leaf motion on windy days, so I’m still trying to figure out how to best tune those settings and still manage to leave this Cam in a position to watch the nearby gate.
