No prob!
You don’t and can’t " attach" them. The “sound the siren” trigger only works when the camera triggers on motion, and the camera only detects motion when you have hit the away button and turned the camera on.
If you had hit the home button last, the camera will be off, there for won’t detect motion and won’t trigger the siren because no motion will be detected (until you hit away again).
Don’t forget to enable this setting in the cameras settings when the camera is on though, because it’s the key to it all.
OK, thanks. That’s a little clearer. But just for the record, I want all of my cameras to be recording all the time, so I don’t want to turn them off. However, when I am not home (Away) I want my garage and interior cameras to sound their sirens when they detect motion.
I will figure this out. Thank you very much for your help.
Cloud or local storage? Those are operated seperately from eachother. Just know that the same trigger that detects motion and saves cloud event clips is the one that triggers the siren via the new trigger rule.
Local storage only.
I don’t want my notifications turned on when I am home, but I still want my cameras to be recording.
Ok, then don’t use the “turn camera off or on” action. Just use the “turn motion detection on” in your away shorty and the “motion detection off” in your home shortcut.
Thank you. I will do this. Hopefully everything works.
Well, I have everything set up, and tested it … and somehow it’s working fine.
I still don’t understand how the Device Triggers know what Shortcut they are associated with, but I’ll worry about that another day. All I care about is that it finally works.
Thanks once more for your help!
