Any sign of a new Pan Cam?

So, just wondering if there is any idea if, and when, the next generation of Pan Cam might start seeing the light of day.

Just asking!

Thanks

Welcome to the Forum, @jiminva!

I don’t have any insight into any potential/forthcoming next-generation Cam Pan model, but if you have any ideas for features you’re seeking, then this Wishlist topic might be a good fit:

Feel free to visit that one, hit the Vote button above the initial post, and contribute your ideas!

Thanks for the quick response. But not quite sure that really answers what I am looking for. Especially in a thread that started two years ago. I use half a dozen plus v3 pan cams. Wyze is now soliciting a higher subscription level tier. I am interested but also want the benefit that only improved hardware can bring to help justify the increase subscription cost.

Software/hardware need to be in concert here a bit. Feels a bit wonky right now. Even simply putting a V4 body on a V3 PTZ would at least show an improved experience and a potential path forward.

Thanks for listening and, I hope, understanding my points here.

Oh, yeah, I get what you’re saying, and I realize that my response didn’t answer your direct question. I just wanted to extend a welcome and provide a pointer to a relevant topic.

Short of an old CES-related video posted by others on YouTube, I don’t recall ever seeing Wyze publicly announce a product until that product has actually launched, especially not recently.

Appreciate it Crease. And I do like the Wyze ecosystem for the most part. There were some interactions during the 2020/2021 Covid period which truly earned my engagement and why I am here today. It is an affordable, wide ranging platform, with really interesting touchpoints in the smart home space.

I just think there is a gap here as they want to grow subscription adoption at a higher tier without providing a full set of enhanced hardware at today’s performance level.

Thanks for the conversation. Maybe/hopefully, Wyze is reading it tonight!

I agree. My entry was the original Plug over five years ago, and I’ve put in my Forum profile other products I’ve used (and continue to use) since then.

I’m interested in seeing what the founders announce this year, since the previous two years have been “Year of the Camera” proclamations, and I’d really like to see other smart home areas get some attention. They also need to prioritize certain areas of app and back-end development (not just focusing on their AI enhancements) that seem to have been neglected, in my opinion (as I’ve mentioned several other places on the Forum). We all have our own opinions about the direction(s) they should be pursuing, though. :man_shrugging:

:+1: Officially they tend to watch the Wyze News, Wishlist, and Beta categories, from what I understand, but occasionally you’ll see Wyze Team members contributing to the conversations in other areas.
