Allow cameras to belong to more than one device group

Cameras should be able to belong to more than one device group.

I have cameras grouped by location, but would also like a group for entrances.

I have asked for this before. If the app is properly designed, this is a trivial change. There isn’t any interest. It seems Wyze thinks it involves a major effort to implement.

That would be really nice!

Hopefully this is still on the roadmap. One of the co-founders mentioned it last year in the v3x app announcement topic:

It’s also an existing Wishlist item:

If you haven’t already done so, you can visit that topic to Vote above the initial post and share your ideas and use cases in the comments to show your support for that request.

I have asked for that long time ago.

It seems that cameras shared to me can’t be added to a group, either. I see them individually in the “Devices” tab. Makes the list longer and harder to locate them.

Hmmm… are you 100% sure about that? I’ve had no trouble adding shared cams to groups in either Android or iOS. But they do all have some flavor of CamPlus..??

In fact I have all my cams from multiple accounts in groups, and Favorites is filled with nothing but groups and one critical cam loose at the top.

And you CAN have a cam appear twice in the Favorites list - once in a group and once loose.

I’m also strongly in the “cams should be allowed in multiple groups” for the exact reasons @ropaswan outlined, and have definitely voted for that Wishlist item.

I have Cam Unlimited and I know how to add cameras to a group. I just don’t see the camera (as available) that was recently shared to me, when I go into a group’s properties.

Edit - my mistake, it isn’t a camera at all. It’s a bulb, I don’t know why I got confused. That was the first time I had someone shared a Wyze device. Sorry about that.
