AI Detection Errors

Set the detection zone where you want to detect motion, minus things like waving flags or things that move, or whatever you want. But if the cars are in view of the camera, any event should still get the tag. If you dont want to see the cars, you’ll have to park them out of camera view or move the camera so that it doesn’t see the cars.

The AI follows detection zones now, so if you block out the parked cars it should not tag them as vehicles or detect motion there.

Was this announced somewhere? This is the first I have heard of this change.

A recent AMA with the AI team

So, I bought cameras to secure my property but the only way to stop false detection is park my cars out of view of the cameras I bought to watch them. This explains how someone was able to walk up and break into my car Christmas morning without WYZE recording 90% of it. WYZE sucks

Whatever issue your having sounds like something different than the comment you replied to. At the time of my previous comment, I believed the AI was unchanged and was still analysing the full video frame for recgonized objects and tagging the videos accordingly for what was observed. The park out of view or move the camera reference was related to that I believed the user didn’t want to have tagged events of stationary vehicles. But it has been pointed out that the AI team made a recent update to the analysis where it was stated that the created detection zone now follows the clip and the ai only looks in the non excluded area which should cut down on AI tagging in non important areas. I am keeping an eye on mine closer now because some of my cam plus videos have vehicle tags from vehicles that are outside my detection zones.

Sounds like your issue, from your quick statement, is that they arnt recording rather than the AI tagging conversation from above.

I have never had a package detection. In the last 2 days I have had at least a dozen of them. It seems that they were these massive tiny insect swarms but maybe it’s mist or fog being blown around? It has been rainy here during that time so I doubt that it was dust.
