Add Night Vision Mode icon to live stream display for new cam types

Thanks for the info/tip. I never noticed the icon probably because my v3 cameras are inside double pane windows, so once cameras are set to NV off I have no need to toggle. Here is my icon in App version 2.50 on an iPad Pro.

I imagine that’s the kind of thinking that factored into the UI change, and that’s probably true for a lot of customers, but based on comments I’ve read from others I’ve gotten the sense that some users like to change this manually depending upon their lighting conditions. That’s why I’d like to see some kind of live view on the screen when making changes to Night Vision Mode, and I think it makes sense to do that somewhere in Settings. It’d be cool if Wyze would allow users to select which controls they want (and how they’re arranged) in the icon (ā€œmenuā€) bar on the Live Stream screen, and I think that’s something that a lot of users would appreciate, but that would be an even bigger design change, and I don’t see them doing that any time soon. Maybe Wyze app v4?

It will never happen my friend, that would be Herculean task for Wyze developers . They haven’t mastered the landscape and dark mode which in my opinion is less of an endeavour.

And risk breaking something else? IMO, just leave it as is. It’s a miracle that it didn’t break more things in the process when Cam V3 was transitioning to the new UI. AFAIK, it was only the accessing notification menu bug and they got that sorted out when they rolled it out for the production release.

Wait it out for 3 months and the complaints will eventually die down just like new Wyze app v3.0 UI [Mod Edit].

Even though I miss and I used the feature a lot, I tend to agree with you, leave it alone and don’t break more things. The app is bloated as it is.

EDIT: Ever since the ā€œunifiedā€ UI design of the app my V3 cameras have been performing below acceptable standards, especially since most of the new ā€œfeaturesā€ have been back end triggered. I have been thinking to cut my losses and move on to a different brand that might suit my needs better. It will be an expensive move and that’s the only thing that’s been stopping me from doing it. But if the pattern continues I will have no choice :sob:

I agree with the above advice that it is probably best to leave it alone. One suggestion might be to move the camera to a location where toggling Night Vision is the least important.

I have one v3 camera that I get an error when trying view SD card playback from the Cloud events screen. I can view the SD card from the Live View / View Playback screen which is good enough for me.

I move the problem v3 to the inside of my garage as it is only used to make sure my garage door is shut.

For whatever it’s worth, I just ran across this tip while looking for something else:

I don’t know if that works on the updated Cam v3 UI, but I see it on some other newer-model Cams (Cam Pan v3, Cam v4, Bulb Cam), and it’s slightly less cumbersome than navigating into Advanced Settings, plus it has the advantage of showing a real-time stream while you make changes.

Yes, it all sounds easy and it was, until the night vision stops working again!! That is why I really appreciated the small icon.

I have a feeling that the developers forgot that little Easter Egg. Now thanks to you they might go and remove it :winking_face_with_tongue:
