Okay thanks.

That jibes with my experience, as well. Iāve used my Cam OG in different settings with the Night Vision Mode set to Auto, Night Vision Conditions set to Dark, and Night Vision IR Lights enabled, and the image clarity is much better than I wouldāve expected under those conditions. I havenāt done a side-by-side comparison with Cam v4 for myself, but Iām definitely pleased with what I get from Cam OG, especially at its price.
Yep, thatās the one. Normally I donāt put a lot of stock in that sort of review/comparison, but even if you put it on mute, ignore everything he says, and just look at the image/motion comparisons, he does a good job. I think I even grabbed still frames and just looked at them side by side.
I looked at his when I was originally trying to decide between v3 and OG. I did see the v3 in his videos seemed to have more ghosting and blocking, but figured maybe it was something on his end. Nope, got them both and saw the exact same thing and sent the v3 back. So since then Iāve figured his videos give a pretty good idea of what to expect.
There have been a couple where he did one when it was brighter out than the other, that was with the older cams, and obviously thatās essentially useless. Now he knows to mount them both and do them as close together as possible.
Overall Iām really impressed with both the OG/OG Tel and the Panv3s I have. Obviously they are not perfect but for what I paid and what I need them for, they exceeded my expectations.
Several neighbors have Blink/Ring cams and one of them frequently just tells people āgo ask Dave, he has the nice camerasā.
Why arenāt any of us working?
I went on a permanent vacation. Retirement is my job. Hours are good and I like not having a boss. I have a corner office, my own bathroom and garage.
Iām self employed, so I pick and choose when to work. Itās nice to have employees and give them the crap you donāt feel like doing
Iām just your typical deadbeat.
Me too, but unfortunately I have multiple bosses, I just call them clients
Me too, both at home and at the office, okay I donāt have a garage at the office
However, my favourite place to work is at the cottage. I donāt have a corner office thee, I have a small desk and a chair but I have a million dollar view of the bay. One bathroom that I share with the wife and a tool shed instead of a garage
Not married?
Iāve been home based for like 15 years when they closed our local office (commuting to NYC from Boston every day is not feasible obviously). Iāve been here 19 years and am the only one left that knows how everything works. So basically I can do whatever I want and nobody would dare make a peep. That being said, I take pride in my work and everything gets done and done right, so nobody would have any reason to question anything anyway.
Plus, itās Friday. Nobody gives 100% on Friday
My bathroom is my corner office
Happily and sheās different kind of boss
EDIT: I just realized that this question wasnāt directed at me. What can I say, Iām self centered
No, I rent.
Definitely the way to go, at least in that area.
Just try not to āborrowā, the owner tends to get mad.
I tried an OG and returned it.
The Color night vision was about the same as my Tapo C320 and nowhere close to the V3ās, V4ās and Pan V3ās I have.
It was a less noisy picture, but much less sensitive which is probably to be expected if the non OG cameras have more gain available.
I use some of my cameras for night sky watching and capturing the Aurora Borealis. The V3, V4, and Pan V3 produce good colour video when the Aurora is barely visible to the naked eye. The OG (and the Tapo) are virtually useless and see nothing but the most intense events.
I find my OG and Pan v3 have similar color night vision, but Iām not aiming them at the sky either. When I was comparing the OG and v4 night vision on various reviews, looking over normal areas the v4 was darker and more grainy with things not as clearly defined, which is probably due to the higher resolution and thus higher light requirements.
Bummer. I was hoping Tapo was a good alternative. I was told they were better than Wyze cams.
Balloon popped.
