V3 Stopped Continuous Recording When Wifi Went Out, Continued When Wifi Resumed

It could be the difference in hardware variation of the V3. Perhaps Altobeam’s ATBM6031 and Realtek RTL8189 WIFi radio behave differently on that firmware?

@dave27 Yeah I went and re-did the test again. After 30 min of internet outage, it actually restarted the V3 camera on FW 4.36.13.0416. My other V3 camera on FW 4.36.11.8391 didn’t restart.

@shoehn FW 4.36.13.0416 also introduces a new behaviour. FYI.

DST transition to Standard Time, does not record to SD card

Just an update for anyone who expects to be able to pull missing footage in the app directly from the SD card due to a DST transition: this no longer works as of November 2024, (Wyze Cam v3, firmware 4.36.13.0416). Unfortunately, the folder does not contain the “_new” files as shown in @hsu780’s screenshot above. It appears that all of the files were overwritten after the time changed at 2:00am. DST transition to Standard Time, does not record to SD card

Reposting since I accidentally deleted it and I can’t seem to restore it. Wyze cameras require internet connectivity to connect to a NTP server to sync timestamps and recording date. If it can’t access to a NTP server, it will start recording files and timestamp based on the firmware date that was built. I took advantage of this to do the following test below. Confirmed. I am able to recreate this as well on my Cam V3 on firmware 4.36.13.0416 by disabling my WiFi and power cycling the camera. …
