I know this is an older thread, but I just had the same issue happen to me, with our iphone. We have the V2. The sound was on though, in my case, but baby was sleeping and house was quiet. And then a feminine hello came through. If I didn’t see this thread, I would definitely think I was crazy and hallucinated this. Immediately changed the password. Was there ever an explanation as to why this may have happened?
Adam,
Nope - you’re not crazy, nor hallucinating. That’s exactly what happened to me as reported here 7 months ago. In my case, the camera I was viewing did not have sound turned on. Since then, I’ve seen no credible explanations why the incursion might have happened. On other threads where similar incidents have been reported, it’s been suggested that it’s the result of someone knowing or guessing your Wyze password. However, analysis of the security architecture indicates that password breach is not the root cause.
Thats right Wyze is buggy as hell. I have 5 cameras. Some are set up in different locations but on the same account. For example I have some set up at my house and some set up at my parents house where we are welping puppies
. When viewing the street view cam at my house I can hear my puppies and mother of the puppies barking and other sounds that should not be coming through my street camera in a completely different city and internet connection . Now I wonder since I bought these set of wayze cameras off facebook market place if the previous owners can hear conversations over their new wyze cams and existing account they had attached to the cameras before I purchased them. It’s pretty funny to read people’s comments arguing about what could actually be causing the audio to cross over when I have the perfect example as to why people are not crazy or the fact they are not having thier accounts hacked needing to change their passwords immediately. THATS LAUGHIBLE! It’s fun to point
the fingers at the end user until somebody explains that wyze is full of poop when saying thier devices have secure audio. Wyze better get on it before they get sued over privacy issues and that’s all I got to say about that!
