Summer is coming. The days are getting longer. My first hummer came to the feeder at 05:39 AM. Last night my last visitor was 08:40 PM.
What camera were you using?
If you read the first part of the post the OP is using a V4 with two eyeglass lenses attached. Works well and great videos.
Thanks! This feed on an iPhone is impossible to keep track of. I have no idea where the original post is!
I don’t know what an OP is and his own reading classes? What kind of eyeglasses? I know they have a macro for the bird nest camera or the birdfeeder camera, rather. I wish they had those available individually for all cameras so that we can get better close-ups. All of mine were a little fuzzy!!
OP= Original Poster. And Wyze just started selling the single close up lens.
You got some great shots! I was able to capture some magic moments, but fuzzy sometimes, especially if I had to zoom in any. Thanks for letting me know about the availability of the Wyse macro lens. That could come in handy.
Or you can McGyver your own like the OP (Original Poster ) did in this post:
Bird activity is increasing. Two hummers at the feeder. I now have three feeders up. In a really good summer i’ll get up to ten feeders and use a half gallon of sugar water every two days. I’ll know what this summer will be like when the chicks fledge. Bird activity goes way up after that.
You may notice that I moved the camera and feeder. It was getting the evening sun. This was causing problems with lens flare and false motion detection. I flipped the camera to the other side of the post. The video is better now.
I have feeders up but no takers yet.
For a laugh, look for hummingbird houses. They have little ones that look like small huts. Problem is hummingbirds are not cavity dwellers like bluebirds. They are like robins. And they prefer spiderwebs to make their nest, so leave the itsy bitsy guy’s work alone.
I’m set up, and waiting as well. I had one show up before I filled the feeder, so I made sure I filled it right away, cleaned it up nice and put it back out, but I’ve had no takers since. Keeping an eye on it.
I put seed feeders where in previous years was a hummer feeder. As I was watching the finches, nuthatches and chickadees one day, I saw a hummer swoop in looking for a sugar fix.
I have to find a place for that hummingbird feeder where I can watch it.
Cold weather today. The birds are fluffing up their feathers.
My wife just planted new flowers in her planters. This one Hummingbird seems to approve. Not as Close Up as other videos but thought I would still share.
Beautiful!
That’s cool how the camera’s frame rate makes the wings appear to be moving in slow motion at times.
Cool wing images here, too, when baby bird, who just took its first flight, comes back to see how the youngest is doing, since it hasn’t flown out of the nest, yet.
